Come for the location, not the comfort The location in the heart of Olympic Valley is wonderful. However, summer stays fall short of expectations. There is not enough staff so the lobby along with any kind of help ends promptly at 6pm and doesn’t reopen till 9am. The rooms were sweltering with no a/c. In addition, without a top floor room, it sounds like an elephant in the room above you. Lastly, there is only a half hour window for breakfast, 8:30-9:00. Very inconvenient!

Red Wolf Lodge doesn't care about your welfare, only their profit. On July 7th I checked into Red Wolf at approximately 4 pm, left my stuff in the room and went to dinner. Upon arriving back at the hotel a nearby fire (the Royal Fire) had broke out. I tried to contact the hotel at approximately 6:15 but they were closed and had no way to get a hold of them. It said you could leave a message, but the messages were full. The people that I booked with also tried to get ahold of them to no avail. Since I lived through the Paradise fire and have ptsd I was not waiting around for an evacuation notice. Many people of Paradise didn't get evacuation notices and perished. The Red Wolf Lodge chose to not even reimburse me even for one day when they could have still rented it out for my 2nd day. I wanted to make sure if I chose to never stay there again that it was their fault that the chose not to reimburse me, not Expedia. They did take the blame that it was them. They said that since an evacuation notice wasn't given out they would not take care of me. Not everyone has lived through a fire before to understand that waiting around can kill you. The Red Wolf Lodge chose to not take care of me. Don't expect them to take care of you either if something goes wrong that you did not expect.

Loved this lodge! This where we stayed when we went snowboarding at Palisades Tahoe, California & would definetly stay again! Room Type: Studio Room (can sleep 4 ppl) Personally, if you stay here, we suggest to stay in an 'odd' numbered room or specifically request a room that overlooks the 'Red Dog' ski run. We loved it because it not only over looked the ski run, but we got to watch the snowcats running up & down the mountain side. Don't worry, the view from the 'even' numbered rooms, is just as beautiful, with the view of half mountain & half parking area. This resort absolutely lives up to its name by the simple fact that it is decked out to what you would expect a log cabin or mountain lodge to look like! Also, it is considered a 'ski in- ski out' lodge as well... which essentially it sits directly on the Red Dog chairlift and at the base of PalisadesTahoe! We were pleasantly pleased & surprised at the amount of amenities that were included with our stay. And with saying that, here is what you can expect ____ __ ______: _️Free covered, self parking (1 car per room)- parking is actually located below the building, which is technically considered the 'ground' floor & they will give you a parking pass to keep in your windshield so you don't get towed. It is a pretty tight squeeze, and we noticed it tends to be busiest on Friday - Sundays. _️$30 nightly resort fee _️Service animals only allowed _️In the lobby, you will find an espresso machine (coffee & tea for free) _️All rooms are non smoking _️Onsite club house (located on 1st floor & must have room key to access) which incuded a fully stocked kitchen & living area with a fireplace. You will also find a sauna, and a foosball table, along with a tredmilll, a sitting bike & an elyptical, plus a woman's & mens bathroom with a shower and restroom. They also had a filtered water dispenser as well. _️ Sitting on the deck (outside of the clubhouse) you will find 3 hot tubs, a BBQ & a fire pit. This is also where you will have direct access to the Red Dog chairlift (ski in - ski out) _️In-room: full kitchen with all kitchen utensils needed to cook & clean (plates, bowls, cups, pots, pans, utensils, papertowels ect), iron, iron board, hairdryer, coffee maker, full size fridge, oven & microwave, along with shampoo & conditioner secured to shower wall. Also a queen sized hide-a-bed in the couch, along with a 4 person dining table, & an electric fire right next to the slinding glass door & balcony area (so cozy!) _️ Washer and dryer onsite (FREE) along with the ability to purchase laundry detergent (need quarters to purchase laundry detergent out of the small vending machine). ____ ___ _ ___ _____ __ _____ ___ _____ __________ ________ _____: _️If are making reservations, make sure it says "Red Wolf Lodge in Olympic Valley"! Don't do what we did and accidentally extend your trip & accidentally book their sister hotel - Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge. No big deal, but it actually sits on Lake Tahoe & is about 30 minutes from the mountain. Beautiful drive & great little individual cabins (we will be doing a review on this location as well), but if you are strictly trying to be AT the mountain, it's not near as convenient location wise. _️The lobby is only open between 9am - 5:30pm, and if you have to check-in after hours, BE SURE TO CALL THE OFFICE before you arrive & let them know what time you are arriving. They have a lockbox outside of the lobby door and will send you instructions on how to gain access to the box, in order to get your room key. _️As of now (for winter season) they are giving a discount to purchasing lift tickets via the qr code they supply in the lobby (this can change at any moment). Essentially you will have to purchase the lift tickets the day before you ski, via the qr code to get the discount. We HIGHLY reccomend purchasing the Ikon Pass (pre season) if you know you will be sking/boarding 3 or more days. Lift ticket prices are absolutely insane, and trust us...if you're skiing more than 3 days, buy the annual pass! _️The customer service was excellent! Nick & Jennifer were absolute charms to work with & they genuinely wanted to make sure we were taken care of! _️Location, location, location! Red Wolf Lodge is literally at the base of Palisades & steps away from not only multiple ski lifts, but directly across the street is what's known as the Village. This is where you will find multiple shops, restaurants & bars, along with ski & snowboard sales & rentals too. Also, if you're looking to purchase groceries and utilize the full kutchen in your room, there is a Safeway (local grocery store) 11 miles back in Truckee, CA (next to Interstate 80). ✔️ | ______ ___ ____ ______ & _________ _____ Happy Travels ✈️ - Ashley & Nate from Adventure Encounters

Excellent location, poor customer service First, the location is excellent. Just a short walk from the village and some lifts. On the other hand, customer service was very poor. They were under major balcony construction from 8:00 - 5:00 during my entire stay, and was not given the chance to either reschedule or change rooms for the "inconvenience". Then they had the audacity to charge me for a lost ski locker key after being explicitly told that I could leave the keys in the room on check out. I did so in a very clear and open spot, but after two weeks of "investigating" nothing was resolved. Everything was nice, but the service was sadly very poor

Great location Prime location in beautiful Olympic Valley (Lake Tahoe), especially for skiers. Comfortably furnished units with lots of amenities including free bike use for the many bike trails in the area. The facility is older but well-maintained, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
