Holiday Inn Express & Suites Nearest Universal Orlando by IHG

Gross They didn’t change the bedding. It smelled like body odor and sweat. It was nasty. The rooms are tiny, the building old feeling and humid and the parking lot has stragglers from nearby hotels (or just random people) walking through all night. Doesn’t seem safe. On the upside the front desk staff was nice. Choose a different hotel.

Great Suite w/two connected rooms! Great location! Having the Suite w/two connected rooms made it very comfortable for our family of 4. Greatly appreciated the free shuttle to nearby Universal Studios. Good restaurant options within walking distance. The staff was very kind. Aaron Jensen (General Manager) was especially welcoming and helpful. My only complaint. The gap in the Shower Door causes a lot of water to leak onto the floor of the whole bathroom. This wasted a lot of towels.

Poor First Impression We spent two nights here on a reservation made on the IHG web site. First time at this hotel so I was not sure what to expect. First impressions were not very good. I got an email to pre-check in with a desired time and they would let me know when the room was ready. Sounded good but they never contacted me at all. We went to the hotel at 5pm and were given a room on the 11th floor. The hotel was suppose to be full but did not seem that way based on the parking or traffic in the hall. Surprised to find out there was no ice machine on the floor. Ice machines are only on even floors. There was only one luggage cart at the entrance and it was similar to an airport cart and way too small to carry everything including a cooler. No plastic liners in the trash cans which was unacceptable as you are suppose to empty the trash yourself as a Covid precaution. The safe was locked so had not been checked when the room was cleaned. Finally the toilet did not flush properly. Traffic was not too bad around the hotel compared to some places in Orlando and you could make a left turn out of the hotel without much trouble. Room had two double beds and was very clean. Coffee maker, lights, A/C, Internet, shower and hot water were all very good. The hotel response to problems was excellent and several items were corrected as soon as we mentioned them. The most outstanding feature of the hotel was the breakfast. They use a printed menu order form and you check what you want and it is ready at a set time or while you wait. Everything was very good quality and there were three ladies working so it was also very quick. My opinion of the hotel changed from average to excellent in the two days especially comparing it to others hotels I have recently stayed at.

One night Nice clean hotel very close to universal studios. Plenty of parking, fast check in and out. Friendly staff. Breakfast to go. Rooms are nice but miss e was really small as was the bathroom. Walls are a little thin, I could hear children next door all evening. It's a good hotel for the area.
