Great location, dated and worn hotel. Great location but a dated and worn hotel. We booked this hotel for its proximity to Universal and the fact that it comes with express passes. Both of those aspects were fantastic. The room and overall state of the hotel however requires a significant refurbishment. The room was very well worn with marked walls and furniture, small damages everywhere and just a general sense of not being particularly clean. Although the room was serviced daily, it was never as clean as one would expect with crumbs on the carpet and stains on the quilts. I would stay again for the location and passes but the price is not worth it for the hotel alone.

Great location, poor reception staff Very expensive hotel and I can understand why for the location, close to Universal. Unfortunately we were let down by the staff on check in. They couldn’t seem to say hello or smile - not even once. They said we would get a text when our room was ready and one never came. When we mentioned this (in a nice way later) the man just stared at us - no response. For such an expensive hotel we were quite disappointed by the customer service. I have to say though that a man cleaning was very helpful. He should be on reception as he was the friendliest person we met. Pool nice and worth it for express tickets, but don’t expect luxury here.

Definitely worth staying here This hotel is perfect if you're doing the Parks all day.....walking distance away or water taxi. The shuttle bus for Volcano Bay is on site too and was perfect. We had a family room which was a good size but we just struggled to dry anything after getting wet in the rain as windows didn't open but that's not a complaint, just a fact. Beds and pillows super comfortable. Pool great and manned by about 10 lifeguards which is good but can be quite overbearing too as you feel constantly watched but I like the level of safety for families. We ate in the hotel restaurant Jake's on a night that was rainy and food was good and service good, just the decor a bit dowdy but its supposed to represent a certain scene so I get it, but it just didn't feel atmospheric. I would recommend using the Tuk Tuk shop on site for breakfast and coffee, we only used this once as we went out to the parks early and ate there but I would have taken breakfast with us if I would have known the value and quality. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, its expensive but the express passes are definitely worth it, and location is fab. You have to expect to pay Universal prices here as you would anywhere within the Parks.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This hotel is not as advertised, 4* luxury it is definitely not! I'm also very, very confused at the number of positive reviews it has received and we have asked ourselves if there are 2 Loews Royal Pacific Resorts, of course there are not, as the one we stayed in was awful and nothing like the one people are reviewing highly. My advice to anyone is to read the low rating reviews, to get a true picture of what this hotel is actually like! We booked it on the recommendation of one of our party who had been there 7 years ago...and they could not believe the difference in both the building and attitude of staff! It is dirty, rundown, outdated and rooms and many communal areas need a complete refurbishment. Staff from housekeeping through to management need retrained in how to perform their jobs. I encountered a very combative, aggressive manager at 1.35pm on 22nd July, I have his name but the company will be able to work out from their roster exactly who he is! In response to the feedback I was giving him and alerting him to the fact that I would be negatively reviewing my experience...he asked in an aggressive tone...so are you after money? When I described the state of the rooms and building he answered...what else do you expect, the hotel is 22 years old!! His attitude summed up everything which is wrong with this hotel. It is obvious nobody has much interest in it, or in carrying out their respective roles to a decent standard. I asked for a change of room on our first night but was told they were all the same, all had been refurbished at the same time...which must have been a looooong time ago. We had booked out 3 rooms for 3 nights and all rooms were the same or even worse than mine. It is a pet friendly hotel, seems most in Orlando are, but I certainly didn't expect to be met by a dog running down the corridor at 10pm at night! Nor did I expect to be sitting in the bar with a dog barking continuously! I witnessed staff in the Tuk Tuk shop, laughing and joking with each other after an aggrieved and upset customer asked for one of their names. Despicable behaviour! The hotel is well situated for the Universal Parks and the fast passes were great...but then we did pay a fortune for our very unpleasant stay. We would have been much happier, and it would have been a lot less costly, to have stayed in the Disney affiliated hotel we had been in prior to moving here for our last 3 nights and catching Ubers and buying Fast Pass tickets for the parks. I have included some photos but as is often the case, they actually don't reflect how bad this place was. As I said previously, read the low scoring reviews to get a true picture of this hotel and then go somewhere else! ,
