Roaches, dilapidated furniture, and they stole our money! Brief Summary: Cockroaches, old, dilapidated furniture, the room is dark with no real ocean view from the 1st floor and a not so friendly manager! They lied to us and took our money even though we spent 3-4 minutes in the room before leaving! If you do decide to book a room here, ask to see a room first and move the mini fridge to make sure your room is roach free! That is where the roaches were hiding in our room. We were promised a refund by the night manager but later he went back on his word, and we were charged for 2 nights that we did not stay at this dump! Working to get a refund through our bank. PS, Photo is of the "ocean view" from the 1st floor. This is After we asked everyone to get out of camera view for our photo! LOL. Anyone see an ocean?!? Details Of Our Experience: Booked this room through Priceline for 2 nights. Because I have 2 bad knees I needed a 1st floor room. We checked in with the general manager who had a standoffish personality. We only walked into the room for 2 minutes! Never even took a bag into the room! We immediately noticed the old furnishings (looked like they survived a few hurricanes over the past two decades), the room had 1 dome light and 1 light between the beds that barely lit up the room. The "ocean view" (again 1st floor) was more like a pool view with the ocean in the far background beyond all the people looking into our room from the pool. We went back to the manager to request a different room but were told "this was the only 1st floor room available, and they all have the same view". So, we decided to stay and just keep the blinds closed to avoid having the people at the pool look in our room. Upon returning to the room (again no bags) we noticed only 1 or 2 electrical outlets in the room. We were trying to figure out where we were going to charge our phones and laptop. There is a dilapidated desk next to the mini fridge with no visible electrical outlet. So, I moved the fridge to find an outlet and was immediately greeted by 8 to 10 cockroaches hiding under the mini fridge! At that point we informed the night manager who just took over the shift. He apologized and offered us the 2nd floor, but I have bad knees and there is no elevator here so I couldn't do that. He then said we would be refunded as we never really checked in. He immediately refunded my Wells Fargo card that was charged $45) for a room upgrade) but said we needed to go through Priceline to get our room refund. Called Priceline and they were happy to refund us as long as this hotel agreed. Guess what? This hotel refused to refund our money through Priceline! So, they took 2 nights of room rent from us, of which we spent 4 minutes maximum in the room! The management downright lied to us to cheat us out of our money!! Guaranteed they rented this room after we left and collected double off this dump! Visited the GM of this hotel the next day and she said there are NO REFUNDS! We were now paying for 2 days that we never stayed at this dump! The nasty GM then insisted there were "no roaches" in the room as the health department was supposedly there the day before. I invited her to go into that room with me and move the mini fridge. If no roaches were found, I offered to forfeit my 2 days rent AND post a 5-star review of this hotel. BUT, if roaches were found, she would issue me a refund. Funny how she declined my offer and REFUSED to inspect the room with me! LOL!!!! I wonder why??? A REAL manager would have tried to make things right! This manager is just covering up for a slumloard motel owner and knows how to do it well! Again, if you do check in, ASK TO SEE A ROOM!!! MOVE THE MINI FRIDGE to ensure no roaches. Posting this review straight across the board in an effort to prevent others from getting lied to and ripped off the way we were!

This place must be on the verge of ch11. The room was dirty, with sand on the floor and in the bed. The windows were dirty and cracked. The room water smelled. There was no soap in the bath. The paint was chipped everywhere. When I asked to change rooms, I was told they couldn't help with that. The couch was filthy and smelly. This was for room 204.

You Can't Say You're True To The Bigger Things Until You Show It In the Smaller Things The positive: Our room had a great view of the ocean. The bed and mattress appeared new and very comfortable, sheets seemed clean, stain-free, soft and comfortable. Little, low-cost things you can improve upon: Provide a notepad, pen, tissues, alarm clock, and plusher, higher-quality towels. Put adhesive, non-slip pads on the slippery tub bottom. Install some doorknob stops on the walls so you don't put holes in the walls. And don't turn off your motel sign at night! Start working on the little things. You can go to Costco/Walmart and Home Depot, pick up those items, and add value by doing the little things first. Then you can focus on more upgrades and remodeling. Either you care or you don't. If you say you do, then show it. With so many places on the beach to say, I would not return here. I am sure that there are other places that show that they care more.

Beach time at driftwood It’s nice to be front row on the Atlantic Ocean and a nice pool the facility needed maintenance on the toilet and could use a facelift but the people were very honest when I left my wallet behind. I would go back because of price , honesty, and front row at the beach

Terrible I read the reviews and kind of knew what I was getting into. My wife and I booked this motel based on location and price. Let me tell you the negative reviews are spot on. This place is a dive motel filled with unsavory people who I believe some that live there full time. No parking at all. If you go out for dinner when you come back you have to park across the highway at the mini golf place. The beds are terrible, hard and squeak every time you move. The doors have holes in them. The fridge and oven are completely rusted from 1980. Thee are definitely roaches as well. Outside the rooms the walkways are all tore up and there are old ovens and air-conditioning systems laying around. The pool was dirty and the water looked like milk. Outside one room there is an old lazy boy recliner. The fences are all missing around the pool and some are just laying around. Spend a little more money and get a better place in the area. We will trust the reviews from now on. Anyone who says this place is even decent is delusional.
