Great location and stay! A great stay at Lord Elgin Hotel. Fast check in. Clean rooms, spacious, beds very comfortable. It was hot outside (heatwave) but the a/c was nice and cool in the rooms. The hallway carpets are nasty and need replacing. The whirlpool has too much chlorine smell to enjoy. Valet parking is a waste of money $45 when you can walk across the street and park at City Hall for $4 on the weekend.

Fantastic Hotel This hotel was wonderful. The location is perfect! Directly across the street from Confederation Park, walking distance from Parliament, Stark street shops, the canal, museums and the many restaurants that are on Elgin street. Also, it’s just a short drive to the Byward Market. You could definitely walk there too if you’re a walker. The staff here were great. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. From the front desk, the bellhops/valet, and the housekeeping. Everything was clean, the bed was cozy, and the bathroom was beautiful. My husband and I had the standard queen room with park view. If you can get the park view it is worth it. The marching of the guards goes right by and you will have a lovely view. My grievance with the room was that somehow we came back to ants being in the room. The window was closed and there was no food. It was hard to see because of the carpet. Also the door to the room has so many gaps. We were right by the elevators so the noise could be a little loud but not too terrible. The most annoying thing was the light from the hallway shining through the gaps in the door while we were trying to sleep. Even with that, the Lord Elgin will be my go to place to stay whenever I am in Ottawa.

Great stay So happy that I chose to stay at the Lord Elgin for my birthday weekend. The location in the heart of Ottawa is ideal, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I was upgraded to a large corner room with two windows with great views - one overlooking the park and the morning Ceremonial Guard parade on Elgin Street, and the other window looking out onto the National War Memorial up the street. There were chocolates awaiting me upon arrival, as well as a card with birthday wishes signed by some of the staff. Nice. Appreciated. :) I rented a bike to explore the city. Keeping it safe inside overnight was no problem as the hotel offers complimentary bike storage. (Great cycling in Ottawa, btw!)

Amazing Amazing place. I went for a two night get away. I had never been to this hotel before, but it will be my new go to when I head to the City. Check in was a breeze as well as the valet. Upon arrival to my room, which was beautiful, the air conditioning wasn't blowing all that well, I was upgraded very fast with the help from the amazing Maintenance man, who went above and beyond, as well as the front desk staff. The upgraded room was beautiful and the AC worked awesome. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying downtown ottawa. It's close to all the great things Ottawa has to offer. Thank you Lord Elgin for making my mini vacation amazing _

Lovely welcoming stay, beautiful comfortable room! Lovely stay & beautiful hotel in the non smoking queen sized room we booked. Friendly & welcoming front desk service. Love how the front people slwats opened the front door for us when we got inside & outside very sweet, welcoming us with a smile. Beautiful room, comfortable bed, had everything from mirror, desk, shower, 2 bedside tables, tv(though we didnt turn it on), iron, lots of storage space, plenty clean towels daily, coffee machine with plenty of pods, sugars and creamers, nice fridge where we can store leftovers & anything we want to store cold items, all neccesities: hand soap, bodywash, conditioner and shampoo though no toothpaste. Great cleaning service in the sense the room was always tip top clean. The only negative is not even a water bottle in the room.
