Disappointing Stay We recently stayed in Room 21 at the China Clipper Inn. After having a wonderful stay several years ago, we were disappointed with our return experience. The room was dirty and outdated, not at all what we expected. Despite booking for three people, the room was not properly set to accommodate us on arrival. To make matters worse, there were no cleaning services provided over our three night stay which only added to the discomfort. The only redeeming quality was the breakfast, but that is unfortunately not enough to make up for the high cost and low quality of room.

Lovely Inn, Great Location, Fabulous Hospitality! We just spent four nights at this wonderful B&B. We stayed in the Captain Quarters room, which was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Great location, just a short walk to shops and restaurants, yet away from the noise of being right on Main St. This inn is so fortunate to have such talented and dedicated employees. Kristin and Ansley know how to make their guests feel at home, as they graciously tend to every need and request. Not to mention the delicious cooked to order breakfasts each day! If you are visiting Ouray, this is where you want to stay! We look forward to returning next summer.

Comfort, kindness & care for the weary winter climber A welcoming place in winter Ouray. My schedule required leaving the sparsely occupied China Clipper well before the breakfast service so the staff took the time to prepare a very good breakfast for me individually. The place was quiet, elegant and comfortable, with a fireplace in our upstairs room and a well stocked library below. I would happily stay again.

Wonderful stay This was a great find in a beautiful mountain town! The place is beautiful, quiet, clean and unique and the homemade breakfast was amazing! The owner is also kind and was a great host! We had a great stay and would highly recommend! We hope to be back!

Outstanding, lots of character While this property is being taken over by new owners, the on-site innkeeper, Kristen (and staff) will attend to your needs. Yes, the place could use a few TLC touchups here and there, but none of it is impactful to your stay. The place oozes character with antiques and so much more related to the China Clipper theme. The woodwork in the interior is very well done. Kristen makes breakfasts that are a work of art. Hot tub and garden area are wonderful. Lots of rooms and outdoor spaces across the inn to sit, relax. It is away from the main drag which is important, recommend parking in front. If you think this is expensive, we’ve come to Ouray for decades and there is such a thing as the prices during high summer, but we feel this to be reasonable for what you get. Highly recommend, but no dogs/pets/small children, which is fine by us. Thanks Kristen!
