Clean and comfortable. What more could one want? When booking I did not realize this was a multi floor hotel. That said, the elevators were plenty fast and available. Front desk staff was super helpful and overall it was a great stay. Quiet, comfortable, HVAC and Internet worked as expected. Good location too.

Find another hotel Let me start off by saying FIND ANOTHER HOTEL. I was very disappointed in this hotel as we traveled all the way from Georgia for a softball tournament and this was a forced option at $200 a night. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with maybe 2 restaurants (Panera) within a 5-mile radius. The softball field (Overland Park) was approximately 10 minutes away but there were hotels and restaurants right across the street. The hotel itself needs an overall upgrade. There are more than 14 floors, so the hotel accommodates a lot of people. There are four elevators and two of them were not working. There were multiple softball teams, baseball teams, basketball teams and a wedding party all here for the same week so you can imagine the wait time to come from the 14th floor. The lobby was decent. There are computers there and a restaurant. There is also a Starbucks store that is not always open so get what you need early.   Regarding the floors. The carpet is old and outdated. The walls are crumbling and old. There is a stale smell in the air. The rooms are extremely basic with the usual small flat screen tv and 2 queen beds. There is a small refrigerator in the room but ours was unplugged and filthy on the outside which tells me the housekeeping had not touched it. There is no microwave available in the hotel at all so don’t go to a restaurant and bring back food to reheat. There is no washer or dryer on the premises, and this was an issue for a softball team. They do offer washing services for $7. The bathroom is extremely basic with mold around the baseboards. There is no bar soap available to wash your hands, so we used the soap provided in bottles attached to the shower. Our shower was clogged with hair and other debris so one shower from my daughter after a game left a layer of water and dirt that would not drain. We had to call maintenance to have them unclog the bathtub. One of our teammates also had to call maintenance as their room smelled so bad from the sink being clogged. What a disgusting smell they had to endure. I had a great view of some crumbling construction and the highway. The ice machine worked so that was a good thing.   Now for the pool area. They had an indoor pool, sauna and hot tub so yes, I was excited!!  I entered the pool, and the water was not clean. The color was a greenish tint. The hot tub was not bad but unfortunately, I was joined by multiple large ants as I sat in it. The entrance to the locker room has baseboards that are rotting away, and I am sure causing mold and other health issues to anyone that is standing near it.     There is plenty of parking, which was a plus but other than that, this hotel is not worth the money they are charging.   Lastly, we booked through a third party due to the required softball booking (Traveling Teams) for one room. The hotel booked us for 2 reservations, one day a part then charged us a no show fee for the first night. I saw the charge on my credit card a day before we arrived, contacted the third party vendor and was advised that they only had one reservation. I arrived to the hotel and was advised that this also happened to another person in our party and it must have been a glitch. I checked out 2 days later and received yet another extra charge on my card. Yes, I will be disputing each charge.

Remodeled Rooms! I’ve been staying here for several years, and I stayed in a remodeled room on this visit. The remodel is nice, and had been overdue. It’s a good location with easy in/out access. If you can get a room on the upper half of the floors, the views are really nice. I wish they would get their elevator situation resolved, as they’ve had at least one car out of service for my last few visits. Fortunately, the hotel wasn’t that busy this time, so I never had to wait more than 2-3 minutes for one. The parking lot had some pretty big potholes, but they were working on patching them. The next time I’m in town, I’ll stay here again.

Elevators still broken Broken elevators. Poor service. The elevator maintenance apparently has no end in sight. The pool area is gross. The cafe area is open sporadically, you have to flag someone from the front desk to get them to open the cafe. Crazy for a Doubletree. There are so many other hotels in the area. Stay elsewhere.

Good Stay! Well pleased! My 11 year old son and stayed for a few days during his spring break. I specifically chose this hotel for the hot tub (not many have those these days!). All an 11 year old boy wants to do is swim! We enjoyed the pool area very much! Staff was great. Hotel was nice. We never had a problem with the elevator. Two were shut down for maintenance but two were working and we never had to wait. The only critique I can give is the room could’ve been a little cleaner but it didn’t bother me. Yes the hotel is a little dated but it’s still very nice. And I’m a sucker for warm chocolate chip cookies. Overall a great stay!
