Nice Hotel, Fantastic Location You cannot beat the location of this hotel in Oxford - Uptown, right off High Street. Plus, it's clean & comfy. My review will echo many previous reviews, but just a bit more advice. The majority of the Standard King rooms face the alley between the hotel and bars. They are odd numbered rooms higher than X23 (i.e 323, 325, 327, 423, 425, etc.) LOTS of street noise in addition to constant opening & closing of dumpsters, tossing trash. The Standard 2 queen beds face the other side - a residential alley. MUCH quieter. Suites face the front of the hotel. Staff is not super friendly, but not a problem either. Good luck getting a room on the weekends during the school year. Weekdays are open and definitely less expensive.

Good location Good location but horrific parking in the public garage which costs $10. It’s small, dark, and the incline where you have to stop to insert your card to access the 3rd floor was not fun. The room was supposed to be two queens but was really two full beds. Water pressure was good, cubby for towels was dusty. Staff was very nice even when questioned about the bed size. For being there about 8 hours, it was fine. Oh, breakfast was basic carbs and sugar.

Pleasant hotel Pleasant, clean hotel around the corner from the main commercial strip in Oxford. Breakfast was disappointing -- packaged muffins and pastries, tiny yogurts, and fruit. Good place to stay if visiting Miami University of Ohio.

Front Desk I don’t think there is a worse front desk staff out there. Very rude, they can’t wait to hang up the phone on you, once she put me on hold and didn’t mute the call, I was listening to the staff discussing grandkids problems for 15 min and didn’t even bother to get back to me…

Very poor customer service We like the rooms at the Elms, and have stayed their numerous times. However, it's become impossible to get past the rudeness of some of the front desk employees. We have now observed this behavior on our last 2 stays, so I believe that this has become standard for the Elms. Front desk employees repeatedly gossip and complain about those staying at the hotel - while standing at the front desk, or within earshot of the entire lobby. When asked for additional towels to clean up the mess left from a broken toilet, the response was "sorry, there are only 3 towels allowed per room" (even though the room has 2 queens and a pullout). After guests request late checkout (standard in many hotels), some are arbitrarily charged a fee, some are not, some are told no, some are told yes, and the time varies widely. This is when the hotel is empty during the summer (but the Hampton is near full). When questioned regarding the Elms policy, the front desk is extremely rude. We will no longer be staying at the Elms. We like the rooms, but they really treat customers like garbage. As shown by the emptiness of the hotel, we aren't the only ones who are dissatisfied. Stay at the Hampton, or even a VRBO/AirBNB. The Elms is in need of some improvements.
