Convenient location, good overall accomodations The hotel is on the edge of the National Harbor area of Maryland. It is easy to access and felt like a safe neighborhood. Traffic noise was a bit distracting but probably typical for the area. Check in and out was swift and friendly. The style of the building is very modern, but the furnishings in our room were showing some honest wear. The room was comfortable and provided the expected amenities. The restaurant downstairs provided us with a very tasty and generous takeout meal, although a 20% tip was automatically added to the bill. For golfers, it is with walking distance of a TopGolf facility.

Discrimination is still a thing! My stay was May 7-9, 2024. I am appalled that racism, bias and discrimination is still a thing. Upon arrival, your overnight concierge (African American bald guy) racially profiled my partner and I. He automatically assumed that we were in the wrong place because a snoring man in the lobby had caught my attention first. Before I could say anything he goes on to say that the property was sold out of rooms. Once I got over the initial shock; I said that I had made reservations a hour prior and I’m just checking in. His face went from surprise to disgust in less than a second. I grabbed two cup of noodles and was set to go to the room. There was a pause after he handed me the room keys as I’m waiting for directions. He assumed that I had been there before and stated, “you’ve been here before, you know where the elevators are”. I said, “sir no the hell I haven’t and no I don’t”. His statement made my partner very uncomfortable because your concierge said it with conviction as if he had seen me before. He goes on to give us directions and we head upstairs to prepare our noodles, only to find out that there were no utensils. I called the front desk and asked if he had utensils and he said yes. I went back downstairs and asked why he didn’t give them to us when we got the noodles. He handed me the utensils and walked away without answering my question. It’s one thing to experience racism and discrimination from other races. It hits ten times harder when it’s from someone of the same race. I am appalled by his disrespect, performance and audacity. His statement could have caused an issue between my partner and I. If I weren’t so tired I would have left. To add on to this , the housekeeping staff kept knocking on the door while we slept. I’m sure they were aware of our check in/checkout time. When I opened the door she laughed and said sorry. But did it again. Nothing was funny about my exhaustion.. it would have been nice for them to show up before checking in because the table was dusty and there was hair under the top sheet of the bed. On a positive note; the location was excellent and the view of the golf course made it beautiful at night. The concierge by the name of Chiquita could see my frustration and exhaustion and went above and beyond to make our stay better. She deserves recognition and a promotion. If it weren’t for her I would have left after the first night. We should discuss refund options.

How Little We Get For Our Stay Checking in and out was a breeze, but we were disappointed with the servicing of the room. Small things found on carpet revealed that the carpet was not vacuumed. Our stay was 3 nights and there was one set of linen each for the two of us. I had to call for more towels and wash cloths. Why should at least receive fresh linens daily. Guests check in at 4 pm and out at 11 am. Toilet tissue was almost gone so I found an attendant in the hallway who gave me 2 rolls. The next day our trash can was overflowing and dirty linen on the floor. I called downstairs to ask what service we get for our money. Answer was every 3 days linens are changed. Most people check out by the 3rd night. I asked if someone would then make the beds, retrieve the dirty linen and empty waste basket. My request was taken but no one came to service room the next day, even with the 24 hr. notice. When I called the front desk there was no record I had called. My wake-up request, however, was noted. I was surprised also to find the bathroom had no railing or bar in or near bathtub. It was a scary thought that if I made a misstep, I would have only the shower curtain to grab. You can do better Harborside.

Great hotel Convenient for event at the Gaylord convention center at a lower price than the immediate surrounding area. There’s a shuttle that goes to the Gaylord and the MGM on demand- only drawback is there’s only one shuttle vehicle so during peak times for the convention there could be a long wait. Rooms are large and comfortable with refrigerator and microwave. Walking distance to Top Golf (right next door) - one mile to target, Safeway, and some other stores.

Comfortable, Affordable, and Free Shuttle This place was great! Rooms are clean and comfortable with sufficient space to unpack and relax. This is the best place in my opinion to stay if you are going to National Harbor because of the free shuttle service they offer that will take you to any of three locations (Gaylord, MGM, or the outlets). If you require maid service each day this place isn’t for you-they change sheets every 3 days unless otherwise requested. Staff is super friendly and helpful and several of them shared that they work together like epa family. They shared the owner treats them well and they are valued, unlike many service works for other corporations.
