Wonderful family getaway for the summer 2021 This is our annual family trip to Palm Springs. We have been coming to Marriott's Desert Springs Villas II for past few years. Check-in was seamless and as alway the staff are alway so friendly. The grounds and property are clean and were beautiful. We stayed in 1 Bedroom Villa. It comes with 1 King, Sofa bed, Balcony, Fully equipped kitchen, Refrigerator, Stovetop, Oven, Dishwasher, washer and dryer. Accommodation comes with free Wi-Fi and access to complimentary parking. There are 7 outdoor pools (Palmeras Pool is the largest pool), fitness center, tennis court, basketball court, and The Shade recreation center with kids rock climbing wall and movie theater.

Sub-par service this time around We've visited the Villas many times but this time the service we received was well below the standard we've come to expect. We stayed in the Jasmine Court section of the resort, which was far from the main hotel and felt a bit isolated. Also, it had only one pool and that pool was always crowded. The room was fine, except for the lizard we found in the unit on day one. No big deal, it's the desert, these things happen. The next day we found two live caterpillars and some silverfish in the kitchen and bathroom. Yuck. We called the front desk to complain and were told maintenance would send an exterminator to treat the room. If that was done, it didn't happen while we were in the room. We've never seen any pests or insects in the rooms on any of our previous stays. We took the shuttle to the JW Marriott Spa, but the shuttle to pick us up and take us back to Jasmine Court took 35 minutes to get to us. By this time the the spa was closed so we were forced to wait outside in the heat. Not fun and actually dangerous for my 84 year old mother. On our last day, as we were packing up to check out, the maid knocked on our door at 9:15 am. Check out is 10 am, so we told her we were not ready to leave yet. Then, at 9:30, more workers came to service our room because they were told it was empty. It wasn't. When we started to load our car, the maid watched us (like a hawk) and then waited outside our door for us to leave. It all made us very uncomfortable. The exterior of our room (outside the front doors) was always dusty and dirty and looked like no one bothered to clean it up. There was a clump our hair on the door mat (see picture). One more thing: we are Mexican/American. The only other families we saw in Jasmine Court appeared to be Mexican, Black and Indian. It made us feel as though we had been put into the Minority Corner of the resort. As I said, we have stayed here many times before and always had great service. This time, not so much.

Great stay in July Just wanted to give a shout out to the staff and management at Desert Springs Villas II. We had a great stay at Desert Springs Villas II last week. The staff was very friendly and very kind. They were kind when we had trouble getting into the 2nd bedroom. I was told the room configuration was “confusing” for many guests. When our 6 year old locked us all out of our 2nd bedroom they told me that it “… happens more often than you know”. Kind words like that go a long way when you’re embarrassed. They even gave us tips on setting up Apple TV. The rooms were very nice, clean and larger than we were expecting.

Great Stay The rooms were very nice with all the touches of home. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and couches and we had a beautiful view from our patio. There are several pools, all well taken care of, with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. The grounds were well maintained and very walkable. The staff was friendly and helpful during our stay.

CA 2021 Enjoyed 8 days in an excellent two bedroom 2 patio villa with beautiful views of a pond, fairway and mountain range. Villa was spotless, fully appointed and very much enjoyed by the four of us. We had a short walk to the pool, covered parking and the resort is very well located for dining, shopping and services. Check in was quick, organized and courteous. We look forward to a return visit at a future date. As an aside, we are vacation club owners since 1999 and bought primarily on our knowledge and respect of Marriott. We are delighted to see the dedication to the program that management has and a compliment on their handling of the covid issues
