Obviously did not take advice of Hotel Impossible show The location is absolutely perfect...with the water being right in front of you...however... The condition of our room was absolutely horrendous. The bathroom vanity was falling off the wall. The fixtures and furnishing are REALLY old. The employees were friendly enough...however someone needs to buy the place and turn it around. It really could be a great place.

Stay away... Crack head guests playing music and yapping outside our window/ door past midnight. No one at the office. Don't pick up the phone. We knew this was a modest hotel but staying a Sunday night expected some peace and quiet. Did not work.

Caribe Playa Beach Hotel review Patillas - 00723, Puerto Rico We stayed at this hotel from July 12 till July 19, 2917. The hotel is located on a private beach in Patillas. The room in the hotel is like one in a cheap motel, but this hotel is not cheap. The toiletries are even worse than in a motel. Any motel would have facial tissues and a coffeemaker with coffee, but this hotel doesn’t. We asked for a coffee maker and we got one for which we signed. We had to buy our own coffee and tea. There were no cups either. We asked for the second set of keys and we got one, for which we signed. The bathroom has a small shower stall, which was very old and cheap with broken plumbing. The sink in the bathroom is cracked. There are two hand towels and two slightly larger bath towels, as well as a floor towel. There is no space in the bathroom to put these towels. The furniture in the room is very old. There is a refrigerator and a TV set with only local broadcast channels. There is plenty space for clothing. The housekeeping comes every day. The housekeepers mop the floor with a dry mop, and the sand stays on the floor in every room. The service at the front desk was good; they were polite and tried to satisfy requests. The landscape of the beach looks nice. There is pool, which is small and shallow. The beach is covered with stones, as is the bottom of the shore. It is inconvenient to go into the water and get out. The stones are slippery. The water is calm. It is possible to snorkel if you have the equipment. There are beach towels and you may change them. The waves are very loud at night and it is not easy to sleep. The hotel’s WiFi is not working; we got T-Mobile provider. To get anything to work as a hotspot I drove 1 mile from the hotel and it worked there. There are many nice restaurants on both sides of the hotel, but to go to the east on rt 3 is narrow and zigzagging. Some drivers driving in the opposing direction are not careful; they drive fast and do not stay in the lanes, and they are not visible and very dangerous. Be very careful driving east on rt 3. I would not stay at this hotel a second time.

Hidden gem This hotel is located in my home town,,away from it all.. Its a small quaint hotel that does not offer many amenities or luxurious rooms but its cozy with a beautiful view.. During our stay many rooms were being upgraded.. Good because the rooms are in need of upgrades. The rooms were very clean and all have beautiful view of the ocean.. You can hear the waves crashing at nighttime and beautiful moonlights. There is so much to do in Patillas, just ask the front desk and they will direct you. The beach is not the greatest to swim bit within a 10 minute drive you can enjoy great swimming in Villa Pesquera beach. The restaurants near the hotel are excellent. Great seafood.

The Perfect Puerto Rican Getaway My new wife and I just returned from a week at Caribe Playa for our honeymoon. We could not have asked for a better time! Reading reviews of some others, we really were not sure what we had gotten ourselves into, but we were pleasantly surprised! First - the location was perfect for us. It's over an hour drive from San Juan and to most other tourist attractions but we wanted to "get away" so we loved that. It is very close to several small but good restaurants and nice beaches. The beach at the hotel itself is mostly rocky, but they still have lawn chairs and hammocks and sitting under the palms was wonderful. You can see (and easily walk down to) a sandy beach if you really need to dig your toes in. You can swim and snorkel right in front of the hotel as they have a natural breakwater reef which calms the undertow. Water shoes are a good idea though. We saw small fish, sea urchin and various types of crab. The landscaping is meticulous and the groundskeepers were always working - sometimes late into the evening when it was cooler for them. The buildings, walkways, etc. are older and that is part of the charm! They are very well maintained and we much prefer that over generic modernity. We never swam in the pool but it looked nice and we saw a few others enjoying it. The "restaurant" is the covered porch area near the front desk, set up with a few tables and an AMAZING view of the ocean. We ate breakfast here four times and it was simple but good. This was where we first got to know the staff - who really made our stay memorable. All of them (but especially Martha and Cynthia) went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Everyone we met in PR was friendly and welcoming - but the staff at CP really win that contest. One day, we came back to our room after having been gone several hours, to find a large puddle on the floor (ceramic tile so no damage.) It seemed that the air conditioner was malfunctioning so I went to the desk for help. Two employees dropped everything and the room was dried and the air conditioner fixed within twenty minutes! They felt so bad and kept apologizing, but no harm had been done. I was so impressed by how the situation was handled. Speaking of the rooms, we were definitely in a "new" one and so I can only speak for that one - but it was great! Spacious, very clean, new furniture, comfortable bed with very crisp and clean linen. Clean mini fridge. (An in-room coffee maker would have been nice, though. Drip coffee isn't really a thing here and even the fast food places make espresso.) Clean bathroom. No issues. Overall - we loved the place and plan on returning with friends! Our advice - 1. Definitely rent a car at the airport to get around. 2. Ask for a "new" room when you make your reservation. 3. Bring your own snorkel and mask. 4. Enjoy the local street/bar food. (Pastillas, kebabs, mofungo.) It's way better than anu of the high end stuff we tried. Also - if you see vegetables - EAT THEM! They are far and few between here and you'll miss them 5. Relax and enjoy the island life! Slow down and talk to the locals. You'll never want to leave. :)
