Ruthvens welcome here These old, rambling hotels are generally a tough gig to run, and Huntingtower hasn't quite proved the exception. On the down side, sound insulation is limited, light pollution is a bit of a pain and on a hot summer's day the lack of air-conditioning (or even cold water) is somewhat frustrating. A few repairs to the fabric of the building look a little overdue, too. But the location allows for a visit to the neighbouring castle (recommended) and the saving grace is the friendly and helpful staff team, who go to some lengths to sooth weary travellers

Very disappointing I have to say we were very disappointed with our experience staying here. This was our first night of a tour of Scotland and by far the worst experience of the 10 days we spent on holiday. We were given a room outside in the cottages, which although it appears to have been refurbished, smelt very bad, really overwhelming musty smell as soon as we opened the door. It was a hot day and the room was stifling that night. We ate in the restaurant and I ordered trout and was presented with salmon, no biggie - but surely this should have been commented on by the server. To be served with veg which consisted of mostly onion and a few peppers. The next morning the shower was stuck on scalding hot and it was impossible to use. We spoke to reception and just had a lacklustre response, almost as if they are used to these sorts of comments.

Huntingtower Hotel, Perth It was great to be back to stay at the Huntingtower Hotel, Perth for my husband's & my own Birthday Break (after being away for 2 years due to Covid) we have stayed here for our Birthdays since 1993. We had a lovely time yet again, staff very friendly & attentive, great breakfasts & excellent meals. Sadly the Hotel is looking a bit tired on the inside & outside & could definitely do with some T.L.C ie gutters cleared of moss, outside paintwork refreshed & woodwork attended to, gardens tidied up & refreshed & the inside could be freshened up too, I do understand that times have been really difficult but a little bit of work done would surely be beneficial for everyone.

Great experience, great location, great staff My wife and I spent two nights here with our grown up children and their partners. Treated by smiling reception staff and given our rooms on the ground floor. All lovely , well appointed with tea/coffee. Whole hotel is of an older age but well maintained. Grounds are lovely with country walks, excellent for any dog owners. Good breakfast with excellent variety. Ate out otherwise. As was here celebrating our anniversary we were delighted that the staff took the time to leave some extra refreshments in our room along with a lovely message. Many thanks to all but especially Skye and the team who went the extra mile! Although a little more expensive than other hotels was well worth it and only few miles from Perth. Some other eateries nearby by car if you decide to venture out.

A gem of a place. A gem of a hotel near Perth. We stayed just the one night but could have done for a lot longer. The stairway to the room was quirky and twisted round corners, but lovely. Had the evening meal at the hotel-absolutely delish!! The room was great and had separate large bathroom in our 'suite'. Lovely and clean. Only down point was the heating was on and we had to open a window for fresh air. Breakfast was excellent with a number of different options available. Hot food fresh cooked and good quality. Lovely grounds to the hotel well worth a quick walk around. Keep an eye out for the lighting in the garden and drive. It will 'chain' your life (you'll get the joke when you see them).
Will definitely return. Lovely and attentive staff. We're thinking of doing the Christmas there.
