Reunion with family/friend Hotel was lovely , clean and easy to find with lovely grounds . The heritage room was cosy beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Free bottles of water in room and on request were a welcome touch ! Breakfast was plentiful, loads of choice and very nice . Only gripe was the swimming pool opening hours closing at 6pm(as we arrived quite late and was told we only had 15 mins in the pool !) plus opening at 9am for children as we wanted to swim before breakfast . Otherwise a perfect stay

Home made Fame Pie! -Amazing Flavour.... A one night stay on a business trip with my wife. Never stayed here before, check in was quick and simple. Room was clean and large, staff very pleasant and professional. Nice pool, and then visited the bar for some food. Main restaurant was closed early in the week? Pub restaurant was clean and spacious. Attentive staff, and a simple menu...we noticed a few items on the menu say homemade...so we gave the Homemade Game Pie a go! Well we weren't disappointed, it was amazing, full of flavours, lovely rosemary roast potato, and sweet snap peas.. The pie was amazing, and I don't usually like pie..rich,seasoned, packed with mixed game.. told it was Venison, Pigeon, Pheasant, with vegetables and a rivh dark gravy...asked for extra gravy...and in a couple of minutes a full jug of rich thick gravy arrived at our table. Pudding from the recommendation of staff ,again home made and also didn't disappoint. This was such a pleasant surprise, and well done to all the staff for being so professional, and a big congratulations to the Chef and team for being so passionate about the food they create. Amazing meal...well done and thank you...

Very historic building, but bedrooms need a refit. Staff generally very friendly and offer good service. Bedrooms are tired and need a refit. Food in the The Ramblewood Inn not great and small main course portion.
