Terrible experience. From the front desk to the dirty room ! I had multiple issues with this stay. I’ll start with the front desk. Rude and unprofessional. Making fun of a young lady that was having trouble checking in making jokes amongst each other instead of trying to help the guest. Part 2 coming..

Good location but customer service is very poor The hotel staff appeared overworked and generally unhappy. As a Diamond member, I did not feel welcomed, and the team did not handle complaints effectively. (Hotel staff name: Tatiana) We were assigned a room that fell far below the standards expected of the Hilton brand: • TV: Broken; although an attempt was made to fix it, it remained non-functional. • Hairdryer: Broken; a replacement was only provided after asking four times and waiting over 12 hours. • Shower gel: Not provided; we were told it was out of stock. • Shower: Broken; only repaired on the last day of our stay. When these issues were raised, the team did not make a meaningful attempt at service recovery. Instead, we were told to pack and move to another room immediately—despite already being prepared to head out for the day—or to stop complaining because they were busy and understaffed. When I requested to speak to a manager, the request was denied with the explanation that the manager was off duty, and no alternative arrangements were offered to escalate the matter.

It is a good hotel, but it has poor client service Angela at the front desk was not a welcoming person, we got there at 9 am, and the check-in was at 3 pm but sometimes they have availability and we wanted to check She barely said hello, and she didn't let me finish my question when she said we have no rooms come at 3 pm… I asked if there was a possibility to have breakfast and she said no… I'm a gold member and she only repeated come at 3… we had bags and would be nice if she offered to keep it meanwhile… NOTHING, I had to ask her, and she took it in a bad mood… By the other hand, the room was fine and cleaned and the location was appropriate for going to everywhere

Ultra-conservative propaganda in lobby This hotel chain proclaims social responsibility in their marketing. This hotel location offers “Epoch Times” printed paper in the lobby. This is an ultra-conservative propaganda publication by a religious org in China led by a self-proclaimed messiah who believes he can meditate. See Wikipedia for more details. I tried to talk to the manager about it but she wouldn’t meet with me. This periodical is in direct conflict with what the Hilton Hotel group claims to stand for.

Friendly service, large rooms, and a handy location in central Philly I was a bit concerned by some of the reviews, but need not have been. Rooms large and clean, with refreshed furnishings and ample toiletries. Generally good breakfast, though the reliance on single use paper and plastics not only feels cheap, but is so wasteful! A (steeply priced) bar in the lobby is a nice amenity, and the valet parking - though also pricey - is well run. The best part of this visit, though, has been the excellent service. In the first day alone, I had three genuinely warm and unexpectedly helpful encounters with various staff across the hotel. This is hardly guaranteed even in a upmarket hotel, but especially rare in midrange chains like a Hampton Inn. Well done to the management - and the front desk staff in particular - for their friendly service. That is the value that will bring me, and others, back in the future.
