Don’t stay in Villas The Villas at Callaway are disgusting! So outdated and so so smelly! We stayed in a 4 bedroom standard, and it smelled so musty! There was mildew and black mold around door frames in the bedroom. Everything felt damp in the downstairs bedroom too. To top it off, there was CARPET in the BATHROOM!! Yuck! I’ll never ever stay in these Villas again. The kitchen is the size of a small walk in closet. It’s tiny! I’m honestly surprised that Callaway would even have their name attached to these.

Rude ( Patricia) and unsafe staff during pandemic I hate to rank Callaway Gardens so bad because they do have a lot of potential and mostly very good people working there. During a regular visit on 7/13/2021 9:10 in the morning we were unexpectedly greeted with a very rude gate attendant named Patricia. I held up my membership card so she could clearly read all the information and then the requested drivers license. It was inches from her face separated with a plexiglass safety panel, but she insisted on having to hold them. We are senior citizens with health issues so the covid pandemic is still very real for us. I was not refusing any information she asked for, I just didn't want her touching anything that would be handed back to me. If she handles everyone's id's I can't imagine the germs she is spreading. She sent us to the office and they called her to let us in. When we got back to the gate she threatened us that it would be the same next time and sarcastically said have a nice day and slammed her window shut. This could be a Callaway policy and I understand proof of membership and ID's but there is no reason to purposely expose us to dangerous germs and viruses. Stay away if your at risk!

The Balcony Was the Best Feature The best feature of our room in the lodge was the balcony facing the pool and lake/beach. The room in general was updated except the carpeting had terrible stains on it. When I mentioned that at the front desk, they said they would be renovating soon. The food in the Piedmont Room Restaurant was very good.

Peaceful and educational We got a 2-day pass and really enjoyed our visit here. The Birds of Prey demo was awesome. The Butterfly Center was a delight (but purposefully, tropically hot). The Azalea Bowl was beautiful and the Chapel with the organ playing was inspirational. The beach section was way too crowded (it was 4th of July weekend) so we stayed away from that part. I thought long and hard about going zip lining, but ultimately decided against it. I’ll save that experience if we visit again.

Summer Family Adventure Disappointed, deceived, and distressed about our recent experience during the Summer Family Adventure. This is our third time experiencing the SFA, and it is definitely not what it used to be. There is no circus, inflatable on the lake, bumper boats, or tubing. My wife and four sons were very disappointed. The activities on the activities chart looked more like a weak attempt to fill space and time. We enjoyed the beach. However, the food and drink stands closed at 5 PM. My son walked up to purchase something to drink, and the employee informed him they were closing and shut the serving window in his face. There are no refreshments to purchase while visiting the beach beginning at 5 PM- prime dinner and refreshment time. Sadly, this may have been our last visit until things improve.
