Leave me a like, 2024 August Crowne Plaza Princeton Crowne Plaza Princeton Remember if you liked this review to leave me a like. I stayed for 1 night from Saturday to Sunday in 2024 August. I originally booked the holiday inn express next door but was contacted the day before by email to let me know that due to construction that my reservation was now moved over to the Crowne Plaza. I arrived early, and I’m Diamond Elite with IHG. I had also booked 4 rooms. The room was located in the north tower on the 3rd floor. Checkin was easy and the staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient. One of the 4 rooms was ready so they let me checkin early. The other room I had booked was connected but still being cleaned. If you don’t have any baggage with you, I suggest walking up to the 3rd floor as it will help familiarize yourself with the hotel’s layout. In the event of an emergency the way the stairs are laid out it’s easy to get confused going down the staircase from the 3rd floor. Room 3235. Single king bed configuration. Had a lot os space. Pay attention to the AC control unit. I suggest not leaving the fan on continuously as it will pull air from the outside. For me it was better to leave the controls on Auto and not continuous. There is a small fridge and coffee maker under the tv and there was plenty of space in the main room. The bathroom appeared newly renovated however the bathroom is small in relation to the room. There was a flaw with the shower doors as they seemed to not stay closed and kept sliding towards the center, so during a typical shower water would just spray out and on to the floor. It’s was ok, cause I was just here for 1 night. Parking was available on site and free. I also had an issue with the TV cable box in the room. I kept getting an error on the screen saying to check the cable connections. The way to fix it was to give the cable box a light technical tap or just tap when the coaxial cable makes contact with the cable box, (not the hdmi or power cable). Breakfast was a buffet and in the hotel’s restaurant Forrestal Grille located behind located directly behind the front desk. At the time during my visit the AC in the restaurant was not functioning and unfortunately it was also very humid outside as they just had the rear doors opened and fans operating during breakfast, however the buffet items are also kept warm using chafing dishes and sternos which adds to the humidity in the Forrestal Grille. So just be aware. An alternative option maybe to walk over to the Holiday Inn Express basement and have breakfast there. It’s a similar buffet and takes about 5 minutes to walk there. You may check with the front desk if it may be an option. The Forrestal Grille restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner but there is a bar located on the 2nd floor. I’m not sure if the bar serves food, but they do serve drinks. The other 2 rooms that I were assigned were located on the 5th floor of the north tower. While the rooms AC were functioning, unfortunately the hallway AC units were not operating on the 5th floor. A few miles away is the Delaware and Rarity Canal state park trail. I brought a bicycle with me did a 15 miles ride along the canal. It was very scenic. Other than the holiday inn express there is nothing within walking distance of the hotels (Crowne Plaza or IHG). Across from Shudder’s Mill Rd is the James Forrestal Campus of Princeton University. A mile to the east you will find the Plainsboro Plaza and Plainsboro Village Center, where you can find numerous shops, supermarkets and fast food restaurants. Downtown Princeton and the main campus are about 10 minutes by car from the Crowne Plaza. I believe the hotel does offer a shuttle service to places within 5 miles. Check with the front desk for operational times and to verify. If I came to Princeton again I would prefer to stay at the Holiday inn Express next door rather then the Crowne Plaza. But then again I didn’t stay at the Holiday Inn Express, I just went their for breakfast in the morning. For some reason I can't add more photos which include the Forrestal Grille Remember if you found this review to be helpful to leave it a like, (+Karma Points) Safe travels!

Clean and good choice, glad I took a chance I read all the reviews and actually lived near this hotel for 25 years, moved to florida and came back in area for business/personal. Decided to give it a shot because I love the Hiro Sushi place almost in walking distance to hotel. Well people are nuts so it's a bit dated but I mean it was kinda modern/ midcentury . The place was very CLEAN !! and a good design, the pool area (Indoors) was fabulous but it was 90 outside this summer. They had a nice bar area with bar shuffleboard and a pool table. The buffet wasn't worth 22 $ but you can order off menu or go to Mcdonalds right around the corner. You can also stay at the holiday inn and suites which is a part of the complex. both hotels are very nice , the grounds are beautiful and you can take a nice walk around the lake area very relaxing. or go right into Princeton. Don't believe these wacko reviewers, I travel a lot and stay in 2 star and 5 star. Jennifer the manager helped me , when my reservation was a bit screwed up , she was helpful and friendly.

Big disappointment!!!! Completely lack of empathy!!!! I booked one extra night to be able to make my checkin earlier and be able to cop with my business appointments! And guess what… their system is down in planned ( I meant planned) maintenance and they can not record my key card, so no way of checking in!!!! And although I explained my situation, I did not see any intention of helping the customer to solve this issue, not caused by me and btw I am paying! Incredible the bad customer service! If depends on me nobody would come here anymore!!!!

Nightmare with good food. I cannot speak to the hotel on this visit though I have stayed there several times and it is generally fine. However, the conference center is a management disaster. I have attended several Scrappetizer events at the conference center with over a hundred women participating. We bring a great number of supplies and have to lug them in ourselves. This is usually fine, but not this time. This was so hugely disastrous that I do not even know where to start. First of all, this group should get the first floor for several reasons. One, most participants are older women, many of whom are mobility impaired. There are vendors with a large number of supplies to be brought in as well. Two, as we have a lot to carry in, we should not be the group assigned upper floors. The first floor was empty until students had some sort of conference there one morning. They should have been on the upper floor, not the women, especially as they had nothing to carry and they were in attendance for far less time than the crafters. Secondly, we could have managed except only one of the two elevators was working and that one barely worked. In Saturday morning, my friend and I were on the third floor going down to the second. As I had just had a knee replacement, the stairs were not an option. The elevator seemed to stop moving. It took a couple of minutes for the door to open - on the first floor. We wanted the second floor. Soon thereafter, a staff member got stuck in the elevator and the entire system was shut down, forcing women just arriving to carry their belongs up the stairs. I had a friend arrive on crutches. What was she supposed to do? By Sunday, the one elevator had been fixed, but only the one. So, 145 women were forced to use one elevator to transport their belongs to the first floor. We waited in line with carts and rolling bags. What should have taken me about thirty minutes, took me two hours. It was unconscionable and unbearable. Speaking of unbearable, the conference rooms on the second floor were far too hot. The third floor was so unbearable that fans had to be brought in. And yet the dining room was freezing. The food, however, and dining staff were amazing as always. Too bad their exceptional service does not translate to the rest of the building. I am scheduled to attend another event next month. If Scrappetizer is not on the first floor, I will cancel this trip. We cannot go through this again. This business uses the conference center a lot, three to four times a year. It should be given every consideration. The attendees should not be treated like second-class citizens, but that is exactly what we felt like, unimportant and insignificant.

Bed Bug Alert Beware! This place is an outdated bug infested hellhole! I booked this bug motel for 3 nights and on the very first night I was awaken in the middle of the morning feeling some sort of crawling sensation, only to discover several bugs in my bed!!! My family & I immediately packed our bags and demanded a full refund and was told by the incompetent manager by the name of Sonja “in order to look into a refund, I must contact the bug company first”. What sense does that make? What does the customer have to do with your bug infested property?!?!? Why would or should I have to wait to get a refund for the exterminator to confirm that your property is infested! I wish I had researched more thoroughly. After speaking to the idiot Sonja, I specifically filtered and searched Google reviews for the word “bug” and found multiple of customers had similar experiences. This place has a MAJOR bug issue. The entire property is dated. Chipped paint everywhere, trash in the conman area. I noticed 2 out of order signs on elevators and the one that worked was extremely slow! This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at! Room smelled like mildew, stains everywhere. Carpet coming apart. There has to be numerous health code violations going on at this location. I’m appalled they’re actually in business. In addition to the items mentioned above, the customer service is deplorable! Upon arrival, I asked Jessica for additional washcloths and never received them. After discovering the bugs and advising Luke of the situation, he was also rude and unwilling to offer any resolution. Avoid this place at all cost! I wouldn’t recommend this place to a rat!
