We’ll be back again It’s our second stay at the hotel. We loved it so much 5 years ago, that we had to visit it again. The hotel has Maya themed decoration with a “jungle” portion that has waterfalls with small furry animals, flamingos, monkeys, peacocks and many more. The rooms are a little outdated but they are comfortable, clean and everything works fine. The food is great and they offer A LOT of variety. The price and quality of the food and drinks are on par. The service is also great, the employees are very friendly and service oriented. They even offer free tennis lessons in the morning. Ask for amigo Nestor, he’s great. I even got my swing back after 20+ years of not playing tennis. He has patience, makes it fun for beginners and is also good with kids. We’ll be back again for sure.

Awful experience Don’t advertise the resort as a higher rating and quality than it is. This resort was lower quality than a cheap Las Vegas hotel. Hire employees that appear happy to be there and aren’t found hiding the bathrooms on FaceTime and Instagram or appear inconvenienced when asked a question. Don’t harass customers by trying to sell them extras every 15 minutes or when they walk through the resort. Clean spilled food off of the pool deck instead of leaving it all day. There were several instances where multiple employees walked right past this in several locations for several hours. The food was never cleaned up. Have your bartenders say when they are out of something instead of making unacceptable substitutions or lie to the customer. Clean someone else’s old toothpaste off the bathroom mirror in the rooms. Don’t have hanging ceiling tiles over the shower exposing electrical and the internal structure of the building. The tile has been loose long enough for dirty brown residue to collect at the low spot and drip. There were no ice makers and our water dispenser only partially worked. The refrigerator was in a cubby that trapped all of the heat, making the cabinet a room heater and not allowing the fridge to get cold. The water flasks do not fit in the fridge. There was animal feces baked on the wall and floor outside our door the entire time we were there. Impossible for housekeeping to miss. Staff should be attentive, not just “doing their job” and nothing more. When it came to food, the resort website was completely different then what was offered at the resort. The food was repetitive and low quality. Only buffet food and seemed that the restaurants were just buffet food just having someone serve it to you. Extremely disappointed and when we expressed our disappointment we were only met with excuses for what the food was not up to quality of what is advertised.

We wouldn't go back This Iberostar lacked the amenities of other Iberostars I have stayed at. Junior suite at the oceanfront the view is blocked by beds on beach. The room bed is comfortable. No upgraded toiletries even in a junior suite. Only the Fire Show was a good show - the rest of the entertainment a yawn. Food was good in the buffets. Restaurants were nothing exceptional. For Japanese you have to make a reservation, for Italian a very long wait in line, for Meditteranean - it is mostly seafood and not middle-eastern food, for Smokehouse - semblance of American food not at all high quality. The drinks are all watered down - not much alcohol. Don't stay for more than 3 days - because not much to do on property unless you want to take excursions. Lots of animals on property so great for kids. Slow check in and check out. Slow service to get things fixed in room. Spa was good. Average stay - don't think we would go back.

An amazing family holiday, can’t wait to come back Wow what a wonderful holiday, we’re back home now after 2 weeks. I have to say, this is the best resort we’ve been to and haven’t got any complaints. Amazing staff, service and wonderful food, only 2 rainy days (one of them was a hurricane!) and the staff made sure everything else back to normal asap. Beautiful beach and even when there was a bit of seaweed, it was always washed up so didn’t affect swimming in this lovely warm clear sea. It was such a relaxed vibe and everyone was there to have a fun time with their family, no pretentious people or showing off, just lovely! Animation team work really hard to make sure that everyone who wants to join in has a fun time, and they’re not pushy at all, if you don’t want to take part, that’s no problem. The lobby bar drinks were the best, so make use of these - drinks at the pool were hit or miss depending on which bar person you got but tips go a long way to improve this. We stayed in building 21 which had been renovated, we were moved to a non renovated room when the hurricane struck and it was very tired, so I can see why people complain about the rooms. The jungle aspect to the hotel is absolutely wonderful, such a plus for this hotel compared to others, so peaceful and amazing to wander through with all of the animals around you, We would definitely come back here, wonderful hotel!! Tips: Tip well, the staff work so hard and our tips are appreciated Go to the lobby bar for evening drinks, delicious Building 21 (near beach) is fab - very close to beach and pool and renovated Don’t worry about the seaweed, it’s sometimes there and sometimes not, the staff clear it away but even if it’s present, it doesn’t spoil swimming as it’s so shallow far out you can easily get past it. In the off peak months, take mosquito repellent, we were eaten alive, they do give you a lovely herbal cream in the room that works well but you need more. A fan is a worthwhile addition to the room, the ac is good, but if you need it cool at night to sleep an extra fan is amazing! We brought usb powered fans and a multi usb plug (also highly recommended). The mini Barr wasn’t very well stocked when we were staying, so if this is importing to you, download the app and request it via guest services, they’re really good at responding. Rent a cabana if you can, made the holiday so much better.
