Contracted for three. Won’t be renewing. We have been contracted to do our international event here for the last three years. We will not be renewing this next year. I can start with the part where this location no longer takes cash- we’ve always paid a portion with cash, as we are an international event and many of our attendees pay us in cash for this event. Despite coming to the front desk to try to pay the bill, when the cash was not accepted, I was placing the money into a bank account to settle this and the staff went to one of the rooms we had rented, kicked out my attendees, AND THEN STATED OUT LOUD TO ALL ATTENDEES THAT WE DIDNT PAY OUR BILL AND THAT IS WHY THEY WERE LOCKING ALL OUR ROOMS— despite the fact that I had been trying to pay them and come up with a secondary solution to pay- the two years previous had been paid in a mix of card and cash. This was new. In the end, they took our cash anyway and opened the doors again. But our event started a half hour late that day. Stating to all our attendees that we could not pay was beyond unprofessional and completely abhorrent. One of our attendees’ room was canceled two days before the event (even though she was reserved) and they couldn’t explain why. They ended up giving her a downgraded room as the one she reserved was no longer available. Then, her second day in, they rented the room out to someone else WHO WALKED IN ON HER WITH HIS KEY CARD!!! They tried to tell her that her reservation was up. She was able to prove it was not, but what if she had been undressed when a random man walked in to her room?!?! Then she was DOUBLE CHARGED for the room when it was all done and she was over drafted on her personal account due to it!!! Another member of our group had no AC, one found CONDOMS under her room chair, another had hair and bugs in the room, another saw used syringes in the landscaping, and another had used towels still in the room. Photos are available of each of these claims. Many of our members reported asking for housekeeping, and never getting it. Some were left with no towels and out of toilet paper. When a cart came by, one member took toilet paper from the cart, and was scolded! This event had 4+ overnights for our members. No clean towels for over 4 days. The event asked for specific staging and when I was not given this, I was challenged that I didn’t book that way. I was able to provide the emails speaking of this set up. Regardless, they couldn’t provide enough risers and the stage was so small that people knocked multiple lights/decorations off the stage throughout the event. There was a children’s soccer game nearby and most kids must have been hosted there. They were spitting over balconies, leaving trash everywhere and etc. in the final night one assaulted a woman there and cops were called. Then, to top it all, I go to my accounts yesterday to find the hotel also TRIPLE charged my accounts. When calling them, they could not come up with a reason why it happened! I have had to dispute this with my financial institution to resolve. It still isn’t completed and my account is in the negative. We are a not for profit organization and I cannot pay our promised donations at this time due to this. Their only saving grace is Melvin, at the front desk. He had great customer service and was a complete gem in an otherwise glisten-less experience. Key cards constantly deactivated. Basically, if you want to do an event here, find somewhere new.

Crowne Plaza was missing all the jewels in its crown. Place is way understaffed. Was told “this is a holiday weekend and we are a conference hosting hotel and no one is staying here this weekend”. The restaurant closed early every night and at different times and no notice was put up to tell us the changed hours. Nothing was on the website telling us that some services would not be available. We checked in Wednesday and stayed until Memorial Day. Room was not cleaned 2 days was told I had to ask for cleaning service. Isn’t part of the fun of going to a hotel is to feel a little pampered? I mean if I wanted to sleep in a messy bed I could have stayed at home. We had another couple with us and they placed their dirty dishes outside their room Friday and they were still Sunday morning. We requested the rooms be close to each other and we are 11 rooms apart. Our room was on a lower floor felt like we were stuck in the basement. The room was dingy and dated with flys in the bathroom and we had no luggage rack and the desk was sagging and the chair would not push in all the way. This hotel is a total disappointment and would not recommend it at all. Staff was a little stand offish and seemed disinterested in our issues. They seemed they wanted to be elsewhere not engaged. As a hospitality business I would grade it a D-. They had a number of nice sitting areas to relax while we waited for the room to be cleaned. We were sitting next to the closed bar and empty coffee and water pots.

Sub par experience. Staff was not attentive or professional. Issues with first room as shower temp did not work. Got a second room and it was a little better. The ceiling was falling down in the bathroom and was not that clean. I would have been better off with a far less expensive hotel. Not worth the money. Restaurant offered few options. Staff nowhere to be found when needed.

Business made easy Nice property, aging a bit but Clean and well kept for the most part. Rooms a large and comfy. Bed is a bit worn but still get ok night's sleep. Excellent breakfast and is complimentary pending choice of accommodation. Very friendly and helpful staff- the staff in the breakfast area are super. Although on western edge of its it is only 15 minutes from downtown and in a quiet and seemingly safe area. We will stay again. Two notes: the layer of dust on the metal lamps in the courtyard areas us getting thicker.. and I had to advise staff of a burned out lamp.

Crypticon MSP 2023 I stayed 2 nights, September 15th and 16th. I have stayed here before, also for Crypticon. It is always busy for Crypticon, and this year was no different. I arrived shortly before 3, and was in my room in no time at all. On the 4th floor, overlooking the side, or back of the rather large property. My king bed room was quite spacious. This year I did not bring a bicycle, but this room would have had plenty of space. The room was clean and comfortable. It smelled good. And it just looked good. The bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great. Everything worked well. There is a nice size parking ramp just outside the hotels side entrance. Along with a bit of uncovered parking. There is a decent sized parking lot at the far back corner of the hotel. The parking lots, and ramp, are very busy for Crypticon. It is a huge property, and this year I did check out the walking around the outside of the building. It is a very nice, and quite lengthy walk around the property. I used this quite a bit. Everyone I ran into from the property was very nice. The front desk personnel were very nice. Even with how busy it was at times. This year I did try out the on-site restaurant for buffet breakfast on Saturday morning. It was very good! Coffee and juice included. I had a very nice visit, and would absolutely stay again.
