Excellent resort -- Skip the Luau I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai with my girlfriend for seven nights. The resort location and service were excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The pools were fun. We especially enjoyed the lazy river. Enough pool chairs were available for everyone. The breakfast buffet was excellent every morning. The poolside food was good. Try the smoothies. The sushi at Stevenson's was amazing. There are good restaurants in the area so you are not confined to the resort restaurants for dinner. We attended the Grant Hyatt luau during one night. The luau was a big disappointment as the food, drinks, and entertainment were low quality. The best activity we did was a catamaran tour of the Na Pali coast with Kauai Sea Tours aboard the Lucky Lady.

Beautiful grounds Everything was beautiful. The staff was fabulous. The food if you like sushi was excellent very expensive. Cannot afford to go back there and that was with a discount.

Wonderful Lifetime Family Experience My wife and I took our children and grandchildren to Kauai (12 of us), and stayed at the Grand Hyatt. We had an extraordinarily great experience. We are very experienced travelers, and came with high expectations, and our expectations were consistently exceeded. Here are some of the highlights: The facilities are absolutely gorgeous. This was my 7th trip to Hawaii, and I thought this was the nicest hotel we've experienced there, especially considering we had people that ranged from age 5 to age 74. The pools and lagoon were beautiful and expansive. The rooms were very well soundproofed...we never heard anybody. The service was consistently extraordinary. I could go through numerous examples, but there were so many occasions in which employees took it upon themselves to make us have a great experience. The common spaces were more than adequate to serve the hotel population. No lines at the restaurants, even for a party of 12. Lots of pool chairs in the shade. It never felt crowded, despite the fact that the hotel was fully booked when we were there. While the hotel is pricey, of course we knew that going in, and once there we were never hit for small things. Internet, beach chairs, parking, and the like were all covered. There was a good range of restaurant choices at various price points. Tidepools, their premium restaurant was wonderful, but the poolside restaurant was great as well, as was the Seaview Cafe'. We had a scheduling issue on an event, and when I brought it up with them they went WAY over and beyond to make things right. We all had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Grand Hyatt Kauai, and I can't give it a stronger recommendation. It was our favorite family vacation ever!
