Amazing team!!! We spent few days on a Staycation trip, and we had a great time! The guys at the pool area are simply amazing, they really take care of all your needs. They have the best attitude and really make you feel that you are in paradise! So if you are thinking about staying somewhere in Pompano Beach, the Marriott is your place! William is your guy at Patio 1200 and Malik at the poolside will keep you hydrated! Joshua is also there for you! I have to say that all the guys by the poolside are really the best! They all have the best attitude!!! I had the pleasure of seeing how they attend to everyone and ensure each guest is taking care of. We truly need more folks like these guys in the hospitality industry! This is a 5 star team! Will definitely come back and recommend the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach to everyone!!! Rooms in need of update The gentlemen at the front desk are very helpful; Dexton at the pool restaurant is fantastic. The beach chairs and umbrellas included in the resort fee were great. It's about a 15 minute walk to the pier where there are a few restaurants and beach shops. That's the good. The bad is that the rooms are VERY out of date. Old, stained green carpet, beige walls with zero coastal feel. Balconies are quite small and offer no privacy. When I asked if there were more updated rooms available, I was told there were all much the same. I was supposed to stay three nights but cut my stay short because the value for price just wasn't there. Went towards Delray beach and found a MUCH nicer place for a few dollars less. I would skip this place.

Low expectations not met I read a lot of the negative reviews before taking this trip. I knew housekeeping was running late or every other day as the hotel warned, and I knew some room had issues, so family and I visited this with an open mind just try to make the best of it. Amazing they still did worst than that. We heard similar complains from other guests. And all reviews typically have a reply from management thanking for the feedback, but it looks like the same problem keep happening over and over. No hotel is perfect, but it is impossible to recommend this place when complains are just acknowledged and not addressed and the same issues continue. MISLEADING ROOM ADVERTISING First, booked a 2-queen ocean view room, and was given the farthest and lowest room from the ocean with a nice parking lot view. When I reached out to front desk they said all their rooms are ocean view, true, if you stand up at the corner of the balcony you may still see 5 degrees of ocean blue surrounded by concrete and asphalt view. They offered to relocate us the next day. This is a very deceiving practice, so do not fall for that. Some travel sites do offer a regular double queen room for less at this hotel, so I was shocked to hear that in their staff's perspective, all rooms are ocean, even if you can see the valet parking from your window, POOR ROOM MAINTENANCE We were moved to another room with better view, small unpacking inconvenience, but worth it for a better location, the room had terrible drain issue. We basically showered with 3-4 inches of water in the tub that took forever to drain. HOUSEKEEPING During our 5 day stay, we did not receive a single housekeeping service. We knew it was bad, but housekeepers were in our floor every day. We basically had to beg for towels and toilet paper, or just take them from their cart when not looking. One housekeeper took with humor that we had been there for multiple days and she suggested with a laugh and a dance that we talked to front desk about it. POOL MAITENANCE Finally, pools do not seem to be properly maintained. Water is not clear blue. Most pools are hot and hazy green with sand at the bottom and moldy water level marks on the walls. PROS Affordability

Great beach service We had a wonderful time at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach. The service was great all around. A special shout out to Alex. He made our time at the beach great. We rented a jet ski and he was so helpful and made sure we had the best experience possible. He always greeted us with such a welcoming smile. :) Looking forward to our next visit!

A few minor issues, but overall it was very good! My wife, my three teenagers and myself stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in mid-July. Overall, it was great. But we had some initial problems with the sleeping arrangements. My wife and I slept in the King bed in the bedroom. The plan was for our daughter to sleep on a rollaway bed, which worked out fine. The two boys were supposed to sleep on the pull-out sofa. But there were two major problems with this plan: 1) the mattress was a "full," not queen and 2) the mattress was filthy and full of holes (see attached photo). Farms animals shouldn't sleep on that awful thing. We were quite dismayed, and at first, the front desk refused to do anything about it. But after speaking with a manager, another rollaway bed was sent to our room for one son, and our other son was gracious enough to sleep on the couch. Not ideal. But we managed just fine. Other thoughts about our visit: Plusses - great outdoor pools - outdoor restaurant & bar service was very good -- very relaxing - Drink & food service on the beach was outstanding! - Beautiful, large room with gorgeous views (Room 6601) - hotel cleanliness - great beach - friendly staff - decent rates Minuses - mattress on our pull-out sofa bed was deplorable (Room 6601) -- filthy & full of holes! - parking was tight & valet-only service makes it a pain. - in-house restaurant was expensive and of average quality. - couldn't swim in the ocean due to ungodly thick seaweed!
