This place used to be good and the staff does not care I stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past, but it's been a few years, and I just went on past experience. It was good in the past. That has changed significantly. The check in didn't even go well. I originally booked the room for three nights, but the job only dictated that I needed to stay two nights. I let the desk worker know so she could amend the reservation and someone else could reserve the room if they wanted to. She didn't know how to do that. I've done this many times before, and she should have been able to do this. She also didn't seem to have been overly well trained, and the check in was not a smooth process. When I got to the room, the clock radio was broken, and the TV remote would not turn on the TV or adjust the volume. I could change channels, but nothing else worked. Considering the desk worker who checked me in was completely lost, I decided to just ride it out and address it with the morning staff and maintenance could take care of it. Sadly, that strategy didn't work, and the problems were not resolved at any point during my stay. Things didn't improve from that point. The breakfast started at 6:00 AM, and I went to the breakfast area at 6:30. They didn't even bother to turn on the juice machine, so I had to go to the lobby bathroom just to get a cup of water to have with breakfast. AT 7:30, as I was leaving, I let the desk employee know about it. He just looked at me and said, "well it's on now". That's not a good answer. I was scrambling to get to a job site. It needs to be on at 6:00, when it's advertised. The stay didn't improve after that. I got back from the job site and the desk worker who checked me in badly hadn't bothered to set the key card up for the full stay. I had to go back to the desk, while hauling a luggage cart full of gear, to get my card reprogrammed. I got the distinct impression that not one person working here even pretends to care. I haven't had very favorable stays at Choice Hotels recently. I may need to start using my Holiday Inn membership more. I'll try that next time I have to work in Port Huron.

Disgusting and unsafe For health and safety reasons do not stay here even if it’s cheap. Food and drink spilled all over floor in lobby and elevator when we got there was still there in morning. Front desk girl was nasty mean because we needed to change rooms as our assigned room had mattress pulled off bed and second bed had bedding all disheveled. Clearly someone checked the mattress etc then left as well.

Had to ask for Toilet Paper First thing after a afternoon of traveling had to take care of "business" and found no toilet paper. Spouse looked throughout room/cubbies/closets to no luck. Went to the front desk to ask for some toilet paper, and they acted as if we were a bother. Room clean, a bit old and worn looking. Soft comfortable bed. Large bath towels. Large breakfast area, but staff complacent regarding breakfast (ran out of eggs and muffins). Larger indoor pool compared to other indoor pools we have seen.

Very disappointing I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, and I will not go back again. I found the hotel to be extremely dirty. The rooms are outdated. There was missing light fixture covers in the bathroom. The door to our room did not close properly. We had to shove it closed. The fridge was missing from our room. Also, no microwave or coffee maker, which is pretty much standard in all hotel rooms. The elevator was disgustingly dirty and wasn’t cleaned until the next morning. When we turned the air conditioning on, the white sheer that lays against the air conditioner along the bottom was filthy from rubbing on the air conditioner. On a good note at least the bathroom tub was clean and the linens and bedding were clean. But I will not stay here again as someone who travelling in general, they need to step it up a bit.

Don’t Book #1 we picked this hotel because online showed picture of hot tub. We arrive no hot tub cemented up. It was our 56 wedding anniversary, no words for disappointment. The place was dirty, elevator, hallway,. Our room was clean but drain in shower plugged. We never would have stayed but room was paid for and we would loose our money. Never will we return here, It’s back to the Hampton for us ! johncpurdy
