Good for business guest During a recent work trip, I had to stay at this property for eight long days. This was my 2nd time for the year staying at this property. The customer service was exceptional; from the bellman to the front desk, the lady when I arrived on that crazy Copa flight at 3am was so helpful. Dayna, the manager, is very attentive, especially with us corporate guests, and usually sends you a handwritten note on arrival. It is a beautiful touch that shows personalization. The gym is the best top-notch; the best vs most properties I visited, it is one of the largest and well equipped. Of course, the rooms need some renovations, but I can see they did some work in the last room I stayed. Breakfast has options for each diet.

Music WAY too loud!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check to make sure there is NOT an event going on or a pool party during your stay. They do not know how nor do they care to control the volume of the DJ who will play very late into the morning. It is so loud that it can be heard up the road and next door bothering their guests as well, not just the Hilton guests. Security laughed and ignored the request when asked to turn down the music. You will not be the priority when staying here. Would never stay here again!

Never again To start with your security and porters need to be better trained and selected that started our unpleasant experience. Security could not and did not give clear information and directions. The Porter there at that time was more interested in telling me where I cannot park, never even volunteered to help or take the luggage. The Club lounge left a lot to be desired. The food was not up to standard, just a few items, I got sick from eating the white flour because there wasn't much options. Then for breakfast they placed smoke herring and pork bacon in the same receptacle. We are Muslim, so we could not take any of an already very limited food options. Kudos to Doodnath at the Club and Michael at the pool, who did their best and were excellent in customer service.

Trinidad's top hotel, but could use Brix's customer service 4.5 out of 5 The Hilton is a little better than Brix, but Brix is a peer competitor and my wife preferred Brix. Disclaimer: My wife and I visited from July 11-14 and I am writing this review in October so I base my review on impressions more than specifics. The Hilton has traditionally been Trinidad's best hotel with Holiday Inn being its only real competitor. Recently the Hyatt and Brix arose to challenge what was a duopoly and Hilton must adapt. I will be honest, although I preferred the Hilton most people would likely prefer Brix. The Hilton has bigger, older rooms and a somewhat sleepy staff, whereas Brix has smaller, newer rooms and a responsive staff. Staff- 4/5 I am being generous here with my 4. This is a 4 for Trinidad or the US, not the world. Trinidad is a relaxed place and hotel staff is not going to rush to cater to you. (Except for Hololo-Haven and Brix) If you understand that fact, staff's slow, phlegmatic attitude will not offend. The relaxed atmosphere is part of Trinidad's charm, but if you expect customer service, then the slow pace of service will be off-putting. Staff was nice enough, but my wife wanted some extra blankets and ordered them at 10. At 11, I had to go to the front desk to get them. The Hilton could benefit from instructing its staff so that they are more like the people at Brix. The Room- 5/5 I prefer the rooms at the Hilton to those of Brix. The suite at the Hilton was a legitimate suite. We had a kitchen and a bedroom for the same price as a regular room at Brix. The room was older, but there was much more space. My wife prefers a newer, smaller room. I do not. I do not care about the age. I want a sprawling room so that I can work in peace. Hotel Food Top notch. Amenities- 5/5 The pool was awesome. I preferred Hilton's old Olympic-sized pool, but this pool is beautiful. The spa was the truth offering facials and massages, of which I did not partake, and the gym was a legitimate gym with all of the bells and whistles. Location- 5/5 The location is ideal for reaching anywhere in Western Trinidad. It is 5 minutes from Brix. It is a 10 minute walk to the savannah, a 20 minute drive to the North coast beaches of Maracas and Las Cuevas, and 15 minutes from Port-of-Spain. It is 25 mins from the airport as well. Overall This is one of Trinidad's best hotels. It is weak on customer service and the rooms and decor could use some updates. That said, the rooms are bigger and better, the food is better, and the amenities are some of the best that Trinidad has to offer. All in all 4.5 out of 5.

Disappointed is an understatement I don’t know where to start. This was supposed to be our anniversary trip which yes we did tell the hotel; no acknowledgment. My husband and I regularly stay in Hiltons all over the world and this hotel shouldn’t have the Hilton name. The place is falling apart, the service is awful with the exception of 3 people. No hot water in the rooms, we spent an hour asking for the jets in the hot tub to be turned on. They kept saying someone was coming but they never did. The drinks are $18 for a single Jack and Coke; extremely over priced. We got so frustrated with the service and quality that we paid for plane tickets and another hotel in Tobago for 2 nights to get away. Our final straw was on the last morning when we noticed a large brown mark in the bottom of the pool that wasn’t there the day before. We waited for 15 min for the manager to come down to assess it. You would think they would close the pool to assess and then clean the mark (he claimed it was back up from the pool drain so basically sewage in the pool) but nope; they left it open. Over an hour later and still no one has cleaned it. I actually don’t think I’ve seen anyone clean the pool a single time. The manager claimed he was going to come back to us with a solution to all of our issues over the week; it’s been 3 hours and he’s MIA so clearly that isn’t happening. The place may look nice on the website but trust me, it isn’t how it looks. Things are broken, the pool has mold developing on the stairs from lack of cleaning and the rooms smell of mildew. Total waste of thousands of dollars which again is so upsetting as it was our anniversary trip. I really wish I could think of a single positive thing to say because my husband and I generally make the best of any situation as nowhere is perfect but this was beyond bad. Hilton corporate needs to do a site check here immediately.
