Absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend! As a surprise for a friend's 40th birthday, booked the Regency Suite for her and our daughter (they are best friends) for a night. They RAVED about it! My daughter said the staff was absolutely wonderful, very polite, and kind. She mentioned Mercedes at the front desk specifically, saying she was very chill and warm. The hotel itself is "beauuuuuutiful" and unique, and the room made our friend cry when they walked in. The jetted soaking tub and fireplace played a big part in finding the perfect place for them. The tub is apparently very large, as well as the shower. Must say, they had a heck of a time figuring out the various knobs in the shower, but it made for a lot of laughs. It's in a great location, right in the heart of the Old Port. They are both enamored with N to Tail (a Korean BBQ restaurant), which they could actually see from their room. It was a 2 minute walk. And in that area, you're in easy walking distance to a ton of other places, as well as the waterfront. After they came back from dinner, they went to the Whiskey Bar to try something different. They both had a great experience there. I'd like to thank the staff at The Regency for treating them so very well. The entire purpose of the overnighter was to give our friend a break from her hectic life as of late, and this filled the bill to a tee!

Always an amazing experience at The Regency! We’ve been traveling to Portland for more than 25 years; it’s such a vibrant, special place! We started staying at The Regency early on, and it is our favorite place to stay, hands down. The Staff is top notch and always welcoming, the premises are immaculate, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The restaurant is cozy and offers great drinks and delicious food, always served with a smile. The Spa is available for a massage and/or other treatments, with sauna and jacuzzi if you’d like. It’s a great hotel in a great location, close to stores, restaurants, seafood and easy to navigate around the city on foot or by car. Just book it; you won’t regret it!

Great location and room hotel Great location, very friendly and accommodating staff, large and very comfortable room with all the necessary amenities. When we checked in they upgraded us to room 429, which we didn't ask for, and really enjoyed it. The bed was very comfortable, large backroom and very comfortable seating. We highly recommend it.

amazing experience Every year for our wedding anniversary celebration my wife and I trade off with a surprise trip. This year for our 41st my wife picked two days in Portland Maine, staying at the independently owned Portland Regency Hotel and Spa, located just two blocks up from the harbor with all its restaurants, stores, and tours. All I can say is from the moment you pull up to the former National Guard Armory(circa 1895) and are met by the Valet you are whisked away by a staff that seems to have the market cornered on smiles and friendly demeanor whose only thought is your comfort. From the front desk crew that all welcomed us by name and congratulated us on our anniversary, to the bartenders at the Armory and Whiskey Bar, to the maid on our floor with a bright cheery "Good Morning". My wife had booked the Governor's suite for our stay which consisted of a living room, half bathroom, and kitchentte with our own in room ice maker. Bedroom was next with a plush king size bed and ceiling fan, then the massive bathroom with a jetted soaking tub and a large walk in shower with three, count em three settings for the water, a rain forest shower head, hand hold head and two side settings. Did I mention the outside private deck with a view of the harbor?. Amazing room. They have a day spa as well but we did not use it. Dining in the Armory Lounge for dinner one night was a joy with excellent food all the way around. We finished our stay Thursday morning with a delicious breakfast of waffles for my wife and a large, three egg omelette with ham, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. I also tried one of our server "John's" bloody marys, made with his homemade receipe, yummy. In conclusion, this hotel is a MUST STAY when visiting Portland Maine. Its location, staff, rooms, and services are top notch.

GREAT LOCATION AND FRIENDLY EFFICIENT STAFF The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were great and had all the required amenities. The organizing of the meeting for 60 people was easy and went smoothly due to the efficiency of both the sales and banquet staff. The 2 1/2 day meeting flowed smoothly because of the follow up of management each morning and the fantastic service from the banquet staff. I would highly recommend this property both for business and leisure.
