BEST COCKTAILS _ _ EVER BY ARJAY My fiancé and I had a blast at this bar with a one-of-a-kind bartender Arjay. He really took the time to give you a superb bar experience right there in the hotel lobby. My overall experience with this hotel was excellent from check-in to check-out. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely book here again if I were to visit Portland ☺️

Should be 5 out of 10 at best Filthy (carpets, walls etc), rundown (faux leather on bed worn bare, chair in room stained, tiny window no light, looking at brick wall - even doors to enter hotel are shabby and worn), and they screwed up the reservation (downgraded us and then when we asked for what we reserved they said they were fully booked). The one star is that they let us cancel onsite with no penalty - went down the road , got a better deal on a much better hotel (last min deal) for less. look here in 2 days for what I am sure will be much better review of alternate Portland Hotel. I have a booking receipt and they wouldn't honor it. This is my last straw with Kimpton (IHG). PERIOD.

Not one of the better Kimptons We had a mixed opinion of this hotel. The lobby was attractive and fun (although the coffee had been cleared away by 10 am, why so early?). But the room we were given was nothing special, with an older bathroom with a tub/shower combo and shower curtain, not exactly upscale. We were told no IHG Diamond upgrades were available, even though multiple higher room types showed as available on the website, so that was a disappointment. On the plus side, the breakfast restaurant was good and the hotel lobby bartender friendly. We appreciated the amenity snacks and wine split that was in our room. The other negative is the area. Not the hotel’s fault but the number of street people roaming downtown is offputting and definitely a disincentive to going out at night. We had expected this from articles about Portland but if we go back to the city, we’ll try a different neighborhood to stay.

Leaving this brand for good This hotel is terrible! It is the reason I’m leaving the IHG brand for good. I stay at a handful of IHG hotels a year, have the credit card, and diamond elite status. This was my first time at this hotel. The check in was dreadful. The guy behind the reception wouldn’t unlock the front glass doors even though he was watching us struggle trying to open them with all our bags. We tried calling the after hours number on the keypad, but no answer. Thankfully, some other guests were exiting and opened the front door for us. Then when checking in, he had the wrong rate and couldn’t fix it until talking to his manager. The stay was bad too.. no toothbrushes (“we ran out”), no coffee in the morning (“we put it away”), the mini fridge was broken, and the AC in the room didn’t work very well either. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. Don’t get room service at this hotel - the waiter that was delivering an order squeezed into a nearly full elevator with us with uncovered plates he was holding literally right below our faces. Disgusting. So disappointed in this hotel that I think it’s time to switch brands.

Friends, quality, and vibes Rj and Jono were so hospitable and friendly at Bacchus bar! Immediately felt welcomed and enjoyed some very tasty drinks. It’s definitely worth checking out what fancy Jell-O shot they’ve been working on. The food was also great, and it was really nice getting to chat with Rodney from the back while he was checking in.
