Nice people, tired property The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. And still using the pandemic as an excuse for no mid stay housekeeping is lame.

Wonderful hotel in downtown Portland We enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and the staff very helpful and efficient. The location in Portland was perfect for our plans to search for furniture. There were at least 6 stores within walking distance and our favorite breakfast restaurant, Cheryls on 12th, is located very close by. We will stay again!

Nice room and kind manager The room was very clean, and the bed was especially cozy and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and had plenty of storage space. The hotel manager was very kind and professional. The Portland Visitor Center is right next door, so it’s very convenient to stop by before starting your trip, making for an efficient travel experience.

A bit of a disappointment Sitting in a Master Suite at the hotel as I write this. Simply less than the other reviews had led me to expect. Friendly staff, room decently clean (although the shower could use some work) and comfortable enough. But no daily housekeeping unless you specifically ask, which we didn’t know to do until we returned after a full day to discover the room just as we left it. Called down to get the room refreshed and clean towels, only to be told that the housecleaning staff had left for the day. There is a coffee maker in the room with a sign saying see the front desk for coffee. When you do, you find it costs $15/bag. There is free brewed coffee in the lobby, but who wants to get dressed for a first thing in the morning cup of coffee? And a Master Suite has no view, save for a sliver between two walls looking onto the street. Not at all a bad or disgusting hotel by any means, just less than I expected and therefore something of a disappointment. Perhaps had it been less well rated, we would not have been quite as disappointed. In all fairness, the relatively low rates in the Portland hotel market may dictate some corner cutting, but reviews should reflect that in my opinion. By the way, another review said there was only street parking, which is incorrect. For $38/nt, there is a secured garage beneath the hotel. Tortured ramps to get into it, but apparently secure nonetheless.
