Morning spa day with a friend Spa was amazing especially the outside pool bur the changing rooms are far too small for the amount of people using the pool. It’s hard to get a locker or shower or have space to get changed. The facilities need to be larger and they need some more staff on as they had run out of juice and coffee very quickly

Amaze Hotel - More like Amazingly Bad!! Hotel Review: A Disappointing Stay After cutting my trip short, I can confidently say this hotel failed to meet expectations in nearly every way. What should have been a joyous getaway—celebrating my birthday, Christmas gift, and 10-year anniversary—turned into an uncomfortable and frustrating experience. First Impressions & Check-in The scenic views on arrival were stunning, and the spa looked inviting, setting the stage for what I hoped would be a relaxing escape. However, check-in was slow, with only one staff member handling arrivals. Room & Cleanliness: A Major Issue We were placed in Room 145, described as refurbished—but that didn’t mean clean: Unvacuumed floors, stagnant water lingering in the kettle, and black mould throughout the bathroom. A rusty, unstable showerhead, making it a safety hazard. Dust-covered surfaces and the toilet that had clearly not been cleaned. After raising concerns, reception initially refused to move us. Thankfully, Heather from housekeeping stepped in—her professionalism was outstanding. She immediately acknowledged the poor condition of the room and arranged a transfer to Room 139. Unfortunately, while larger, the second room was equally disappointing in cleanliness—by then, we had to accept it just to get to our spa appointment. Spa - The spa itself was beautiful, particularly the view from the pool, offering a brief moment of relaxation. However, the changing areas were far too small for the number of guests, making it difficult to move comfortably. Dining was a letdown in the spa overpriced, undercooked meals, far from the quality expected. Eat before you arrive. Breakfast was mediocre, with lukewarm food and poorly chilled yogurts. For reference they only serve Fried Eggs - can request scambled and poached but this is not obvious. Afternoon tea? Stale sandwiches thrown together with basic fillings (ham, smoked salmon, and egg mayo), crusts left on, and insufficient clotted cream for two guests.Desserts were unappealing enough to leave behind, the only exception being the shortbread. Sleep? Virtually Impossible. Instead of unwinding, we were met with relentless noise from a wedding directly outside our window—something never mentioned at check-in. The disturbance continued until 2 AM, followed by an unwelcome wake-up call at 6 AM, courtesy of peacocks outside. Beyond the noise, the room temperature was uncomfortable, and the provided fan was poor-quality, hardly making a difference. Even Village Hotels provide Dyson Fans To make matters worse: The shower drained poorly—on closer inspection, the buildup under the plug was disgusting. Water pressure was weak, making washing hair a tedious chore. Checking Out Early—And Glad We Did With another wedding party arriving, another sleepless night was not an option. We requested an early check-out, but reception showed little concern, with barely an acknowledgment of the issues raised. Final Verdict: Far From Four-Star Quality This hotel is dated, tired, and in serious need of renovation. Cleanliness was unacceptable, with basic hygiene neglected. Noise levels ruined any hope of relaxation. Food was overpriced and underwhelming. Also think about notifing guests that an event is on when they are staying, this way they can prepare or at least think about supplying ear plugs!! For a place marketed as four-star quality, it barely scrapes three stars—if that. Anyone spending their hard-earned money here would be disappointed. Until it undergoes a complete revamp, it’s best avoided for those seeking a restful, enjoyable stay.
