Highly Recommend Stayed at the newly partially renovated Double Tree in downtown Poughkeepsie for my daughter’s wedding weekend. Peter, and the rest of the staff bent over backwards to make our weekend more memorable. There were beautifully renovated rooms, with a shower that had great water pressure. My daughter stayed in a suite where members of the wedding party were able to congregate comfortably. We also had a private breakfast for our out of town guests in one of the newly redesigned conference rooms. The food was delicious, presentation was beautiful and the staff was amazing. Can’t wait for the construction to be completed. Plan to go back for a weekend away!

Great staff. Get odd numbered rooms on top floors for a good view. This is a very old hotel that is being rebranded. It was the Grand Hotel before Hilton took over. The front desk staff is great. The rooms are good but not great. In the summer you can't heat your room (they turn off the heat for the summer). One thing: if you get a high room ask for an odd numbered one. You will get a good view of the river and the bridge.

Happy to stay here After staying at a few horrible hotels on our trip, this was a nice experience. Rooms were lovely . We had a nice view of the city from the 9th floor. We had dinner and drinks at the bar. The food was good and the bartender was lovely. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Nice hotel We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel because we were in Poughkeepsie for a wedding. Check-in was very quick and efficient. We had a 1 bedroom suite which was very nice. We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant. The food was okay. The service was good but they do not accept cash for payment. You can only sign your meal to your room or pay with credit card. The lobby is still under renovation but it doesn’t have much to do with hotel experience.

Just an OK experience Stayed here for an event on a Saturday evening. Check-in was easy, everyone was very nice. My room had a nice view of the Hudson River. My reason for 3 stars are: 1) The area of hotel is not the best. Be careful if you walk around in the evening, try not to walk alone. There is a Dunkin Donuts about a block away from hotel, food is nasty there. 2) The walls in rooms are very thin! The weekend we were there, there were a couple of parties, HS students it seemed. On our floor, and no kidding about this - we passed by 2-3 rooms where they were having s#x loud enough it was heard in the hallways as we passed - SMH. Not the hotel's fault, but keep in mind, walls are very thin. 3) The hotel bar closes early. On a Friday and Saturday night, it is closed by 10pm. 4) The food in the hotel is not the best. I ordered wings at the bar, my nephew ordered a burger. The wings were soggy even though I made it pretty clear I wanted them crispy, the burger tasted like a frozen patty. Considering what we paid for the food, the food just wasn't worth it. 5) The kicker - Attended an event on a Saturday evening, bar at event was cash-only. We went to the ATMs in the lobby, and they were out of cash. LOL Seriously, how does that happen? Would I stay there again, probably not.
