Review of Occidental Punta Cana This hotel is reasonable for advance bookings. For last minute bookings, they are heavily overpriced. They are also not flexible when requests are made. Very poor service levels when the Air Conditioner is not working or the bathroom wash basins are blocked.

NO huts on the beach The only resort that does not have huts on the beach! This was very disappointing as it limited our time at the beach! Additionally the staff is rude and unfriendly and food was fair! Breakfast and dinner were good but lunch is terrible!

Beautiful Beach Overall it was a fun stay. Definitely need to improve on staff friendliness and the variety of foods. We ate pretty much the same thing for 7 days.

Fantastic time in Punta Cana Bavaro Beach We had a an absolute blast at the Barcelo Occidental in Punt Cana. Getting the Royal treatment from Hipolito Perez, Arlenis and Wendy was awesome!!! The beach was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. It was hot but that's to be expected in August.

Terrible! I had a terrible experience and do not recommend not one bit. The rooms are missing “do not disturb” signs, you have to get your own drinks because servers will not come and ask what you want. Buffet is a mess! You sit wherever you find an empty seat and end up eating before someone even serves you water or asks you what you want to drink. They STOLE my cc, id and $150 cash I had. I allowed them to come to my room to check everywhere even my luggage and my parents luggages. We didn’t find it anywhere. When I came back from our excursion they had placed it back in the bathroom in a cosmetic bag I and security obviously checked earlier that day. When I went back to let them know, security even agreed he didn’t see it there when he checked the bathroom. So, after I caused a scene they decided to return my things. Book at your own risk.
