The Hotel at La Valle

Relaxing getaway The friendly and attentive staff were one of the highlights of this short stay. From check in to restaurant service, the staff were just so helpful and friendly. At first We were confused where to check-in, we went to where the rooms are but eventually found out check-in is in the clubhouse, on the outside there is a small clock tower. Upon entering the building our room was located, there was a slight musty smell but not overwhelming. Our room was beautiful with a nice marble bar area with a microwave and small refrigerator. The bathroom was small but had a beautiful marble countertop and travertine tiles surrounding the bathtub. The room and hotel could use some touch ups but in My opinion the positives overwhelmingly out way the negatives. Our room was not golf course front as I thought it would be but did have a distant golf course view but actually I liked the privacy and view better than being right on the golf course. Note there was a lot of work being done of the golf course, bulldozers and such. The restaurant has very good food and as I mentioned before, the service was top notch. We had both a dinner and then a lunch at the restaurant. The fried chicken sandwich and especially the club sandwich were so good. My Fiancé had the crab tostadas which he loved. I do not recommend the Strawberry French Toast for dessert, it was not actually French Toast, it was Texas bread toasted in a toaster and filled with strawberry flavored cream cheese and topped with a little bit of fresh strawberry. It tasted good but was small and not worth $13. French toast is bread soaked in a mixture of egg, milk, sugar, and vanilla and then cooked on a pan or griddle not bread toasted in a toaster. I should have sent it back. Be aware the restaurant adds a 5% service charge but if you are reading this after July 1, 2024 a new California law will be in effect that these service charges will have to be included in the menu price. Breakfast is grab and go only but I would have preferred a sit down breakfast service. The fitness center was large and impressive. The pool was very nice and the perfect temperature. I do wish the poolside food and drink stand was open but it is seasonal. I also wish the hotel had vending machines but I did notice an electric cart stocked with snacks and drinks that serviced the people playing on the golf course but we do not play golf. The locker room was very nice and close to the spa treatment rooms. The small sitting room with a cold and hot water dispenser and a TV is very nice. The locker room itself is very impressive and has very private toilet stalls, showers, and a relaxing steam room. Beware when arriving at the pool or fitness center, if you want a locker they ask for your car keys to hold. We did not show up with any keys or wallets, just our room key and gym bag. They did however give a us a key, which we gave back when we were finished. Overall I highly recommend La Valle Coastal Club for a relaxing stay that is only about a 3 mile drive to Del Mar.

La Valle Coastal Club formerly known as Morgan Run Club & Resort Formerly Known As Morgun Run Club & Resort, La Valle Coastal Club & Resort hotel accommodations for family and wedding guests were pleasant and affordable the weekend of February 22-25, 2024. Kurt Johnson, Director of Rooms, and his staff were very pleasant to work with and very accommodating with regards to delivering gift bags for specific guests when they checked in. This hotel was chosen due to the proximity to wedding venue, The Secret Garden, in Rancho Santa Fe and was recommended by the venue management. Kurt Johnson worked with us in setting aside a block of rooms and we ended up with around 26 rooms, at least one of those being a two room suite with two bathrooms which worked well for receiving friends & family as they arrived in days prior to the wedding. The property itself is a great location with nice amenities, however needs some major updated remodeling or rehabilitation to the hotel portion - fixtures, finishes, furnishing, etc. - befitting to such a great location.

Just so so! We recently stayed at Morgan Run for one night. The location was great but we felt as if the facility is dated and needs an upgrade. Carpet in the hallway is warn and faded and the color scheme is out of the 70's. The room is also tied and the TV was small and difficult to see from the bed. The room was clean. As we were there for only 1 night we didn't get to experience the service or grounds

Amazing Golf Course Views Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The same rooms could use some updating, but did not take away from the great stay with amazing service. Good food with great drinks at the restaurant. The work out facility was also vast & clean. Cant wait to return to such a lovely & convenient location.

Great Great Hotel! Warm Friendly staff ready to help! Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean but could use a little updating. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was on the property. The workout room is really impressive.
