Days Inn by Wyndham West Rapid City

Unethical motel If i could give it a zero i would we will never stay here again they run an unethical business. We got to the Days inn west Rapid city SD They told us they did not have our reservation in ther system. I gave them all my info on the reservation from hotels.com The lady hardly looked at and well we dont have it but we have 6 rooms left. We asked if it would still be the $811.12 that we had booked she said no we dont have that in our system it will cost 1477.46 for the 5 nights that $666.43 extra that is a lot of money. I finally found a chat room on hotels.com they sent me the 800 number for hotels.com and it is 1-800-246-8357 Im still working on them to get my money back and for them to honor my reservation and price. One couple said the Days inn west told them that expieda had canceled the rservation when they had called expiedia because the hotel had told them expiedia had canceled the reservation expeida said they had not. So they told them they knew they lied and were told if they did not vacacate the room the cops would be call because they were being disruptive all because they called them on it the gentlemen said then we wont be charged for tonight then? and they said there credit card had already been charged. A Young couple from Guadalajara Mexico road their motorcycle all the way to Rapid city sd got to the Days inn west they had pre paid again they were also told they did not have their resevation I gave them the 800 number for Hotels.com the manager came and was not nice to them at all. When they were leaving they said the manager was really mad at them and they found another room at a different place because they were not going to pay another $200 on top of what they had already paid for. Another gentlemen was a wyndhams rewards member and used points the hotel refused and canceled his reservation with him standing in the lobby . Do not stay here it is not an ethical place . Three of us have exchanged info and will keep in touch as we try and get our money back for the extra cost of them being greedy after all it is Sturigs Motorcycle Rally lets gouge the bikers. Just a side note all of my other reservation for this trip were just fine with hotels.com just this one had a problem same with the other guests makes you wonder! The place need a good cleaning and updating.

They are crooked as the day is long!!!!! This is a Wyndham property and we save our year points so we can stay at the Days Inn West during the Sturgis Rally. I made our reservations on July 2nd, 2024. I did it on line so they know what's available. I got my confirmation and John got a reminder that his vacation is coming up in 2 days. We left early in the morning of our vacation and went to check in August 1st - August 7th. The girl that was checking us in told us that we canceled it the morning of the 1st. We said NOO it wasn't us! John called Wyndham and they said the manager canceled it that morning. The Wyndham rep John called was talking to kept him on the line and the guy asked the girl working the desk John listened to everything and the Wyndham rep asked her if he could get into their screen on the computer and she said I'm sorry I can't let you...Our friends checked in and they were going to charge them for an early check -in. They went outside and she come out and said she won't charge them....our friend just let me now that they were turning people away who used other booking sites.....I don't believe they can legally do that so I'm going to be doing some work on the checking of everything they have done...Vert Cooked place.........Don't Stay There!!!!!!

DONT STAY Unsafe, dirty, rude employees. Cops showed up one day too. Breakfast is terrible and never on time. Keys and front desk drawers left to the public with no workers in sight for hours.

Unethical Operator I did not have overly high expectations for the hotel in the first place, I knew that I was booking something that was along the lines of a 2.5 rating. However, what really set things off for me was the fact that the hotel would not honour my Expedia reservation when I arrived, forcing me to either find new accommodations after a very long day of travel, or, to accept a cost. That was double what I should have been paying. Under the circumstances, understanding that this was a very busy time for the city, which is why I booked six months in advance, I was left with little choice, but to accept the higher price. Very disappointing. Having been in the hotel industry for over 35 years, I have heard of this scam before: Hotel notices on day of arrival that someone is at a very, very good rate, because they booked six months in advance, before the rates were increased. Wanting to see the opportunity for greater revenue, they cancel the existing reservation, and force you to opt for the higher rate when you arrive, or to be stuck on the street in a high demand. NOT COOL !!!

Days Inn by Wyndham Rapid City SD - Problems Traveling from Wisconsin to our home in San Diego, California we needed to stop in Rapid City, South Dakota. Days Inn by Wyndham West Rapid City offered a room for a less expensive rate than most hotels in the area. We did not expect anything elaborate. We were just in town to get a repair job at a local Honda dealership and to see Mount Rushmore. We needed a room for only 2 nights. We encountered some problems. The air conditioning unit in the room was erratic. On July 18th and 19th in 2024, daytime highs reached the upper 80’s and lower 90’s. With the room air conditioning unit set to the coolest settings and running continuously, the room sometimes stayed warm for hours. It was sometimes a bit hard to sleep because the room stayed too warm for the first few hours, but we would wake up freezing at 2 AM. On the first morning, the dining area was very warm. On the morning we checked out, the front desk attendant failed to monitor the breakfast area and eggs ran out very early. That same morning, we observed the front desk attendant many times as we loaded up our vehicle with luggage - which took several trips as we had a lot of luggage. The front desk clerk was usually on our floor, sitting in one of the chairs by the elevator, engaged in conversation on his phone. In the bathroom, the toilet is under a shelf preventing the toilet from staying raised, a major inconvenience for the simple act of male urination. This was my first stay in a Days Inn since the 1970’s. I had pleasant experiences with Days Inn back in those years. I cannot say that about my stay in July 2024. I do not think I will stay at a Days Inn facility again.
