Hit and Miss We were in room 511, facing the Navesink River. The views are incredible. The space in the rooms is great. Beds are great and towels are really superior bath sheets. In addition to stellar view the room had a mini-fridge, a safe, and a separate Make-up/ coffee bar area. But the furniture is really beat up. Im not one to nit pick but the room needs painting as well as a good refresh. The wall/ window type AC struggled to keep up, and the bathroom area didnt get any cool air at all. The bathroom was clean, but is old and horrible- shockingly so- we’ve been in cheap hotels that have been better. Definitely needs new fixtures and a complete gut renovation. For some reason the hallway was un-air conditioned, extremely humid.. The employees are really great, front desk, bar, and restaurant for delicious breakfast. While checking out my husband mentioned an issue we’d encountered in our room. To our surprise Guest Services employee Jeff tracked us down with a phone call an hour later and offered a nice discount. We hadnt asked for a thing, but this shows what responsible great employees can add to an experience.

DO NOT STYA UNLESS YOU CAN SLEEP THROUGH POUNDING MUSIC We stayed at this hotel on the night of July 13th. It's a lovely property with clean rooms and lovely views within walking distance to the Count Basie theater and downtown. The problem and the reason for the one-star service is because the hotel is a popular wedding destination, and we had the wedding's pounding music playing until after 1:00 AM. We asked to move rooms, and they told us they had nothing available EXCEPT on the third floor, the floor we were on the right above the wedding. They did not attempt to make things right--no free breakfast, no room discount, no stay at their sister property up the road unless we paid $265 MORE a night. Ridiculous! My advice to you is to call the hotel to book and if there is a wedding on the same night you are staying either find someplace else or request a higher floor room away from the noise. The front desk woman was super sweet but had been hamstrung by her "general manager" who was not there on a Saturday night. Bad Management. Amex got us $$$ off the room but honestly, they shouldnt have had to! To add insult to injury, after a sleepless night, there was only decaf coffee available for the in-room coffee maker. Never returning! shame on management.

Always Relaxing There are evidences of this being an older hotel with updates but the view of the Navesink River along with its relaxed light atmosphere keep me coming back whenever I’m in the area. Quiet with a friendly, responsive staff and comfortable bar. Again, just can’t beat the view.

Great couples hotel We were looking for a quiet place for a few days and were not disappointed. The hotel also has a nice restaurant which was convenient when we didn't want to drive in an unfamiliar area when it was raining. Jeff checked us in and was very helpful.

Overall decent stay in a great location. The hotel is need of updating throughout. Old worn furniture, paint, etc… Overall decent stay, friendly staff. Great location. Only one person checking in, several people waiting. Hotel needs new furniture, fixtures, fresh paint, overall updating. Walls relatively thin, could hear couple in adjoining room having a conversation as if they were in our room.
