I don't recommend When I went to go Check-in, they lost my reservation. The first room that they sent me to was still occupied by somebody else. The second room I went to the keycard. Did not work the third room I went to. We stayed in, but the toilets did not flush propbrilliant for it being considered an upgraded room. I was very disappointed. They did not enforce the no smoking policy. I was on the 2nd floor and the room beneath us would smoke and it would drift into our room with our children. They now charge for breakfast. The person working it. Walked away so many times it was hard to pay. I was very disappointed all around. I will not go back. The pool was clean.

Sad decline of this family favorite hotel We have been staying at this Red Lion for over 35 years. We especially like to stay there with the grandkids because the rooms are so big and the pool is a family favorite. We've stayed twice in the last month. We noticed that it wasn't the same quality as in the past, but our last trip it was worse. Every single chair by the pool was broken. There were only 2 tables with umbrellas and there were many people who wanted to sit by the pool but have some shade. People were all complaining. We only had 3 towels in our bathroom and no floor mat. Our air conditioner was a portable one with ductwork going through the window. We wondered why they had rented this room out. I will say that all of the front desk employees were lovely as ever. It just seems that ownership, or mangement has changed and effort is certainly not being put into this facility. This is sad, we will miss staying there.

Ultimate Customer Service Extra grateful for Yara at the front desk, Vicki in the RSbb area and the waitresses and waiters. Housekeeping staff please be more careful and aware of areas that seem unused but need attention. Check areas and clean leftover dust from repairs and double check “under the rim” of the toilet.

Good stay with dogs. Recommended on BringFido.com Redding is the mid-point between where we live and Disneyland, so we have stayed in the city twice when we have driven down to CA. We stayed 2 nights (on the way down and then on the way back) at Red Lion Hotel this trip. We had our 3 little dogs (6-11lbs each) with us and BringFido.com had good reviews for this hotel regarding dogs. We were charged $20 pet fee which was great. The first room we stayed in was perfect. It had a comfortable king-sized bed and was a large room (accessible room). There was a sliding door that made it so easy to take dogs out. The thermostat in the room worked well. The second room we stayed in was not as good. It still had the convenient sliding door and comfortable king-sized bed, but the thermostat did not work. Even when we set it at 63 degrees, it was warm in the room. The air was flowing out of the vent though so maybe something was wrong with the air conditioning unit for the room. We got breakfast one morning around 6:30am. The oatmeal wasn't ready and there were no potatoes in their hot breakfast. However, we were ok just taking eggs and toast to go. As the rooms as great for our dogs, we will definitely be back. Hopefully we get the first room again though.

Bedbug Found a bedbug under my pillow before I went to sleep (thank god). The staff was way too nonchalant about it. They offered us another room and were shocked we didn't take it. Honestly, had they been more surprised that they had bedbugs we might have. No one apologized. I even spoke to the manager the next day and he did not apologize either. They did refund us the room. I know others had a pleasant experience - we just did not unfortunately. The hotel does have a beautiful view of the mountain though.
