Excellent stay. These beach hotels are all older. If you are super picky go to an all inclusive resort. I loved my stay here. It was a very convenient location on the boardwalk. I stayed in the King Suite North. Room was comfortable and large. The fridge was large for a mini fridge. Freezer part at the top sometimes froze water bottles, sometimes didn't. The bathroom was small, but big enough. I think previous guests were leaving their beach chairs in the tub, because there was some rust stains. It gave me an initial ugh feeling, but on closer inspection the bathroom was very clean. It just had some wear and tear marks. (If you look closely all throughout the hotel there is evidence of many layers of paint- its an old hotel, but kept very clean). There was an expandable clothes line in the shower to hang wet bathing suits. But another family member's room did not have that. The rest of the suite looked like it was freshly remolded and smelled nice. The bed seemed uncomfortable (firm) at first, but I slept so well on it. Fell asleep in moments and did not wake up once during the night. I loved that the cleaning staff actually washed all the bed linens (sheet, blanket, and top cover). AC in room did not play tricks where it would warm up when you were gone. It was an old school spin the dial type. The bed in the King Suite North is located far away from the entry door so it was very quiet sleeping. There is also a pocket door that can close off the bedroom from the sitting area. I did not use the pull out bed, but it looks like it would be very tight to maneuver around if pulled out. The beds in the South Suites have the bedroom right next to hall entry. On my last night, several kid baseball teams were there and it was very noisy near the hall door, but blessedly quiet in the bedroom. The South Suites have a balcony so that might be a nice trade off. Pool was very nice. They have serving staff who wait on you. There is a lot of comfortable loungers. On the last day there were a ton of middle school boys there being boys. The hotel posted a large security staff member who did polite crowd control to keep things from getting out of hand. I really appreciated that. Other more calm days they just had a college age guy who was posted to maybe be a slight deterrent from people stealing towels or something. Beach is nice. There are several entrances right in front of hotel. Take the one that is in front of the pool if you like getting in the water. There is a jetty near the far edge of the hotel and the lifeguards really enforce no swimming for a good distance near it. Or, if you aren't into swimming, being next to the jetty is very nice for watching waves without having a ton of people blocking your view. Because of the central location, it is so easy to walk to get food. Eat at Gus and Gus but take cash. They have even better fries than Thrashers (I know shocker right?). The coffee shop attached to the hotel was very good and cheaply priced (ie $2.50 starting price). They have really good muffins too. There are several elevators throughout the building. I found the one furthest away from the beach went directly down to the ground and basement of the garage from the end of the North/South Suites. It made packing up to leave so easy. I'll remember this next time I stay here.

After stay After reading all of the negative reviews I decided to reserve my balcony room at Atlantic Sands. I was somewhat worried but decided to try it for myself. I am so glad that I did stay here. Yes it is a older hotel and pricey but I found everything very clean and you could not beat the location. Everything is within walking distance. After check in we did have a problem with the handle on the toilet not working. After notifying front desk it was fixed within 10 minutes. How can you complain about that? All staff was very friendly and professional. I would stay here again with no hesitation.

Great staff! Just spent 9 nights at the hotel our home away from home. Had a great time. Service is amazing! Always feel like family when we arrive. We appreciate all of you at the Sands. Special thanks to Donna, Craig, Melissa, Donna housekeeping, Donnel, Joe, Kevin and even Rollie! Hotel is in the best location in town, there for 9 nights and never got in the car until today to go home. We will see you all in 3 weeks! Thanks Sands for a great vacation !!

Previously nice hotel has gone down - not worth the cost! Great location on the beach, but this hotel has really gone down. It needs SERIOUS RENOVATION in order to be nice again. Our room smelled of mold, and the carpet was wet in the area between kitchen and living room. They brought a fan to dry it, but it never really dried. Also, the AC unit above kitchen started dripping - they clearly need new units. The room was generally clean, but never felt in any way "up-scale" - it's starting to feel like a cheap motel. Beds were not comfortable, bedding is old and not the quality you'd expect for the price you're paying. Bathrooms seem old and musty, fixtures are dated, and small things were broken (for example, temp cap of faucet kept popping off). We won't stay there again until they renovate.

Great location, but dated hotel, with thin walls, not worth the cost. I gave this place 2 stars, it really deserves 2.5 stars because of the location It is right on the boardwalk which was great. I stayed one night. Pro's - it is right on the boardwalk, can easily get to beach & walk everywhere & has a pool and a restaurant next to the pool. Cons - there were crumbs on the floor in our room and crumbs under the cushions to the pullout bed which my kid had to sleep on. The bathroom is extremely dated, rusty tub & fixtures, around toilet & needs updates badly. The walls are thin, I was awaken twice by a crying baby in the middle of the night and could hear the family next door talking. If you are a light sleeper like I am, you may have trouble sleeping like I did. The pillows are way too small and the room should have been cleaner. The cushions by the pool were not clean but we laid towels on top of them. There is also construction right in front of the hotel. Overall this is a 2 star hotel, they should really lower the price because it was not worth the amount that I paid. I would look for other accommodations when I come back to rehoboth.
