Cool hotel in Downtown Richmond! One of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed! Huge 2 beds rooms suite! Just 6 rooms in our floor! The rooms had names! Our was Wilson! Staff was nice! Just one complaint: I was charged in U$ 25 for early check in , although the room was ready at 2 pm! Great location!

Great Hotel with amazing Rooms This is a wonderful hotel. The staff is super kind and friendly as soon as I walked in I felt so welcomed. The room: The rooms are named and it's a beautiful suite: when you walk in, there's a table, mini fridge and microwave, a beautiful couch and TV set up. The bedroom has a huge bed with tons of room to relax and just enjoy your time. There is an outlet with 3 outlets and 4 USB ports to charge all your devices easily next to your bed and there's even reading lights next to the bed which you can angle so it doesn't bother your S.O. My favorite part is the bathroom which was just lovely. It has a giant glass shower with a hand-held wand and a typical faucet for use. Then they supply the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in a big bottle so they don't fill the landfill with waste. The aesthetics are beautiful. The elevators are super small as are the hallways, but you would never know that once inside the room. Location: The location was great and it's right downtown so if you feel like walking you can venture out into the city. If not, the vallet will retrieve your vehicle as much as possible so you can enjoy the city. The view from our bedroom wasn't the greatest because it's between four buildings, kind of a courtyard but the view from the living room was better. We ventures out and ate at Honey Whyte's at night for some great tasting burgers and onion rings. It was nice driving around and seeing the buildings and the different business lines up and down the street. Overall, we had a fabulous stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel for family getaways, business adventures, or just some alone time!

Good boutique hotel in a great location! The Commonwealth hotel is really well located just steps from the Virginia State Capital Building. The grounds of the Capital Building are just beautiful and well worth a visit. We were only passing through Richmond overnight and got there on Friday early evening. The hotel area had really cleared out and was very quiet. We were told it’s the financial district which is another reason it’s not busy on the weekend. Our room was really spacious. We got upgraded to a suite which was a nice perk. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant the next morning which was good and reasonable. We had a very small issue with our bill and were comped the valet parking which was a nice gesture and much appreciated. We were charged for our room even though it was prepaid. The charge is still showing up as pending on our credit card, but we were assured it will get reversed.

The Commonwealth Hotel is Amazing, and the Hospitality is top notch! This weekend my wife and I visited Richmond, VA for a brief overnight stay while celebrating a milestone BDay for a close personal friend. In planning our arrangements, we briefly researched hotels and potential accommodations in the area. During our research we stumbled across The Commonwealth Hotel, located in downtown Richmond. A swanky upbeat boutique hotel in the heart of the city, that literally rest on the edge of the VA State capitol build /campus. After scrolling through the available images on the website, we were sold. We reached out to the hotel directly to verify the availability, where we were greeted by Ms. Sharon. Sharon was extremely pleasant and wonderful to engage with. She was well versed and detailed in her descriptions of each of the room offerings the hotel had available that evening, paying close attention to the particular accommodation desires that were discussed during our call. The hotel offerings were abundant and well priced. We made our selection solely based on the hospitality and pleasantries demonstrated by Sharon, she was extremely patient with us and addressed all of our questions; upon completing our reservation, to our surprise Sharon made special accommodations for my wife and I, arranging for us to enjoy complentary dining in the hotels restaurant as a part if our stay. Upon arrival we were impressed with the hotel lobby interior design, and equally as impressed with the room size and attention to aesthetic interior decor/finishes as well. The accommodations were amazing and generous; outfitted with comfy beds, pillows, nice size TVs, and everything else that you would need to feel at home. The next morning we dined at the Ruger (the in-house restaurant) where the hospitality continued, as we engaged with Michael at the front desk and our server Reily (BTW the food was amazing! Both delicious and filling!). All in all we enjoyed our brief stay at The Commonwealth Hotel; everything was top notch, two thumbs up, we would certainly recommend this hotel everyone. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer, but rest assured we'll be back again in the future. SPECIAL THANKS to Ms. Sharon, Michael, and Riley for making our stay at The Commonwealth Hotel one to remember. Regards.
