Great for families/restaurant mixed review There are several accommodation options here. Our friends had a great larger cabin with a nice view and well equipped. Ours was more like a hotel room with a kitchenette. It was supposed to be a queen mattress but seemed like a double. Overall, although it was older, it was clean and adequate for our needs. It didn't have a 'resort' feel, but it was a place that has many fun activities for families and kids, so is a great option for families and friends. The people were friendly and helpful! We had a great experience at the casual Smokehouse BBQ spot on the river. However, I cannot recommend the upscale restaurant, River Ranch Cattle company (at the check in location). We were one of just a few tables in the place, and our service was slow and inattentive, food was mediocre, and the worst part was that the server added in a 20% gratuity and didn't tell any of us (party of 6). We are excellent tippers having worked in service industries most of our life, but to add a 20% gratuity for lousy service and not tell us it was added, leaving a line to add the gratuity was unprofessional at best and deceptive at worst. Just be aware that you need to look at your bill carefully.

Horrible Service During my recent stay at the Westgate Resorts, I encountered a series of unfortunate experiences. Initially, the concierge staff provided exceptional service, informing us of a special package that required a 90-minute presentation on timeshares to be eligible. We agreed to attend the presentation the following day at 9:30 AM. They also informed us that they would add a special birthday message for my brother in law during the rodeo the following evening. It never happened. Upon entering the two rooms we had rented, we were met with an unpleasant odor of mold and excessive humidity. The following day, we inquired about the meeting’s commencement time, as it was already 9:30 AM. The concierge assigned to us had not yet arrived, and the presentation was still pending. Shortly thereafter, the presenter, Sabrina, entered late at 9:50 AM and conducted a tour of the property. However, her frequent use of profanity in Spanish, presumably in an attempt to establish rapport, made us and our family feel uncomfortable. She also frequently discussed her travels to Spain and other global destinations, which we found to be incongruous with the purpose of the meeting. Sabrina was able to accommodate our request to interrupt the presentation to attend a previously scheduled excursion due to the rigid timeslots for the excursions. We were advised to contact her upon the conclusion of the presentation. We subsequently met with Sabrina once the excursion concluded. However, we had another excursion booked weeks in advance for our special weekend getaway. Unfortunately, since the meeting had not yet concluded, the excursion overlapped with a significant portion of our time, and we had also booked another excursion that would have been compromised if we had moved. We listened to the meeting from 9:30 AM until approximately 1:25 PM, at which point our next excursion was booked with a 45-minute break to allow us to complete the first excursion. When we informed Sabrina that we had to depart to continue with our day and the planned excursions, her demeanor and tone abruptly changed, and she expressed significant disappointment, accompanied by the rest of the staff. She stated, “Well call me when you get out, if I’m even here anymore.” That evening my mother in law and aunt went to the saloon for some dancing in which a fight broke out and the smell of marijuana was so overwhelming they had to leave. The following day, upon checking out, we were informed that the initial package deal we had secured was no longer valid due to our failure to complete the meeting. However, we clarified that Sabrina had occupied our time from 9:30 AM to 1:25 PM, well past the promised presentation time had concluded. Upon informing the staff that we had not completed the presentation, they informed us that we were liable for the golf cart, which was included in the package deal. We clarified that our intention was to purchase a timeshare, but the staff failed to address this point. We had meticulously planned this vacation months in advance, and it was unfair to dedicate the entire day to a presentation that was only scheduled to last 90 minutes. Despite our efforts to negotiate, the staff remained unyielding, and we ultimately paid for the golf carts as they were already included in the receipt. This experience left a negative impression on us, particularly since we were genuinely considering purchasing the timeshare. However, the staff’s spiteful behavior when they were unable to achieve their objectives has deterred us from ever considering owning a timeshare with Westgate.

Be aware of the sales team and their false promises! Everything was really nice except for the fact that they offered you a package that will pay for the golf car and it gives you 20% on services if you go on a 90 minute tour. The day of the tour they arrived late(after 9:30am) we told them that we have already activities planned through the day, they said that should be okay that they can do the 90 minutes in between activities. We were with them from 9:40am -11:20am and then from 12pm to 1:20pm and the presentation wasn't over when was our time for our next activitie. They couldn't change the activity and after all that time that we spend with them they did charge us the golf car fee because we didn't finish the tour. That was very disappointing, we were rush to all the activities, we listened to their presentation and Jose (The boss) said there was nothing he can do for us. Be aware of all those false promises, I'm glad we didn't do the Time share, if this was like that with a golf cart fee I can't even imagine the hell that a time share with them could have been. Other than that Everything was really nice.

Halloween weekend The resort was beautiful but almost everything was closed except on the weekend. The restaurant has a limited menu and the food is average. Service was excellent and the BBQ end cuts were excellent. Swamp buggy ride was awesome! The room was acceptable and clean. We enjoyed the Halloween hayride and Eileen was wonderful. All in all it was an enjoyable outdoor experience.
