On a downhill slope since MGM sold it This casino has really changed in the last two years. First con would be comps have been drastically reduced since MGM sold this casino. You will only get a comp room Sunday-Thursday, rooms need a deep clean (this has been every room I stayed in) walls, carpet, even art seems to be ignored when cleaning. Back to comps, when you get food comps you must spend it all with one swipe. Say you have $80. Food comp for the month, you MUST use $80. at one meal or lose the extra. To add insult to injury, the staff will tell you what you can or can not order when using comps. Try spending $80. In comps at sweet tea restaurant when they tell you no, you can’t purchase sweets to take home to use up comps. Aren’t they our rewards to use as we see fit? Apparently not anymore. Free play comp seems to be maxed out at $30. They removed a lot of the good old classic slots and replaced them with budget busting penny slot games. Rare to come out ahead on these games, give me one with less bells and whistles and more return for the money. They do have a handful of pleasant staff working there, but many seem irritated if you ask any questions, and just want to finish the shift. Drink servers are non existent. You might see one server during a day trip, and she’ll try to ignore you. Security seems to be beefed up in the last year, so I wonder if there has been issues there. The pool closed during Covid in 2020, and has never been re-opened. So no pool. Pearl River resort and casino is a much more pleasant experience, and worth the extra hour drive for me. Gold Strike used to be my go-to, but sadly no more.

Absolutely no exceptions I booked a room for 4 nights beginning June 21. My sister suffered a sudden heart attack and died that day. I notified the resort that I would not be checking in, but was told since I had booked it as non refundable, there were NO exceptions to the rule for any reason. Period.

Average The rooms need a deep clean. Beds and bath were clean but a lot of dust in curtains and what looked like ketchup quieted in the mirror in main room. Probably short staffed like everyone. We also found it hard to get drinks in the casino. Overall, not bad for one night.

Tunica Is Going Downhill Horrible experience at this location. It is not the same as when MGM was the owner. I now travel to MGM's property in Biloxi (Beau Rivage). I would really like to write something good about Goldstrike but it is a far cry from what it was a few years ago.
