Several Issues at the Lighthouse Inn in Rockport First of all, I want to say how thankful that I am that the Inn did not receive any damage from hurricane Beryl. My family has been going to the Inn for over 15 years. My husband and I stayed at the Lighthouse Inn July 14th - 17th. I have to say that this was the worst stay that I have had in 15 years. Our stay started off bad by having the pool being so dirty and cloudy that we did not feel safe using it. We complained to Cacee at the front desk and she said and I quote "Anytime that you have kids using the pool, it is going to look that way". If you were standing in the pool, you would not be able to see your feet or the bottom of the pool, that is how bad it was. My husband and I were so disappointed because the pool is one of the reasons that we go to the Lighthouse. After we complained, the pool did not get any attention and stayed dirty and cloudy the whole 3 days that we were there. Second issue, we had requested a room on the bottom floor so we would be close to the BBQ pits which the Lighthouse was able to accommodate us, BUT the BBQ pits were so fifthly that there was no way that we were going to be able to use them. Of the 2 pits, only one had a propane tank attached to it. Both had no cleaning tools available only dirty old forks next to them. We complained about this too and over the next 3 days, nothing was done to clean the pits. Third issue, We love to go fishing on the pier at the Lighthouse. My husband and I went out on the pier on the 14th in the evening. As it was getting dark, I went to turn on the lights and they did not come on. The Green lights that go in the water were not coming on. I called the front desk from the pier and was told that NONE of the lights were working because they were taken out with the storm that hit before Beryl. That means that they were out for over a month. If the front desk knew that they were out, why didn't they tell you when you checked in? We gave up fishing because we could not see anything out there and were walking back to our room and stopped at the fish cleaning station to rinse out our bait bucket and found out that there was no water available either. When I checked us out on Wednesday (7/17) the attendant asked how our stay went and I listed each of the issues. She made an excuse for the pool saying that sun screen causes the pool to look bad. (Funny, it has never looked that bad before). She also told me that she spoke to the grounds person just that morning and he said that the lights were fixed on the pier the previous night. My husband and I both were sitting on the lounge chairs that night and NO, the lights were not working. We paid a lot of money for us stay and I can tell you that we did not get our money's worth. Please Lighthouse, get your act together. You guys have such a great property and location. I want to go back, but will not until each of these issues have been corrected.

May 2024 stay We stayed several days at the Inn during the last week in May, 2024. The Inn is in a good location, overlooking the bay, and has its own pier. Relaxing area in the back of the Inn with lawn chairs and a gazebo. Has a nice pool and an area with grills. Our room was a standard 2 queen bed room, pretty standard room. One major problem however is the air conditioning units for the room, are located in a closet like enclosure in the back of the room and when they are running, which is most of the time, they are very noisy. We actually changed rooms due the unit being unbearable noisy. The room we moved to was some quieter but still noisy. So if you are a light sleeper be sure and bring your earplugs. The breakfast is standard fare, similar to most hotel free breakfasts. Breakfast is in the Palm room and the mornings we were there was not crowded, at least between 7 and 8:30. Coffee was okay. The Palm room is also the restaurant area in the evenings. By the way happy hour was 4 to 6, with drinks at half price. People were friendly (especially bar and breakfast staff) and helpful for the most part. One front desk female clerk was a little abrupt and too busy (i.e. doing some kind of paper work) to give us her attention for more than a few seconds. You have to post the door hanger each morning if you want your room serviced, i.e. clean towels, etc. Inn is within walking distance of several good restaurants. Plenty of parking in front of the Restaurant and they have a lot across the street if you have a boat in tow that you need to park.

Sophisticated yet casual What a quaint place, a real treasure right on the water at Aransas Bay. A Cape Cod feeling when you walk in. The Palm bar is wonderful and the bartender Mark does a fabulous job. He is very knowledgeable about mixology. Great experience. I will definitely visit again.

Right on the water. Great views and lovely staff. Wonderful views of the Bay sitting on your balcony enjoying the off shore breezes. Walk to many restaurants and attractions. Very friendly staff and beautiful gathering area. You are right on the water and all that goes with it. On site restaurant is excellent.

A hotel with good infrastructure I stayed here between Christmas and New Years 2023. I was really impressed with the engineering of the building, namely, the heating system in my room was strong and I didn't need to run it for long before the room became warm. Also, the shower had good water pressure with hot water right away. My room was clean and had plenty of towels. Special thanks to Olga who was in charge of the breakfast buffet. It was a solid hot breakfast with eggs, meat and potatoes. A bonus at breakfast was being able to see the sunrise over the bay. I would definitely stay here again.
