Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Rocky Mount, NC

Great Stay Only complaint is smelling marijuana. Everything else has been amazing. The customer service was great, rooms were clean, AC was fantastic, and no noise issues.

Half and Half First I'll add the bad ( that really wasn't that bad). We like leaving super early and knew there was a fitness center. I checked it out as soon as we got in and it had a limit of 2 people in the room at a time and it wasn't open 24 hours. It opened at 7 which was late for me to use. Next time I'll be more aware of the hours of any place we stay regarding fitness center. The hotel had many families staying that were a part of a baseball tournaments somewhere in the area. On our floor the doors to their rooms were CONSTANTLY slammed. WHY? This went on until after 12 AM. The hotel can not control rude people, just next time will call and ask if any teams will be staying at the same time we visit The good- the room was clean. The Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was AMAZING. The lovely lady got the breakfast ready early. It was Sunday and it wasn't suppose to open till 7- it opened at 6. I'm a NY girl and I DO NOT like grits. Had them a few times and yuck. I was so tired from the door slamming keeping me awake that I saw something that looked scrambled eggs. Not reading what it was I took a spoonful. I said to hubby these eggs are pretty good- he looked at me and said those are grits- LOL. I told the lady who prepared the breakfast how much I enjoyed them.

Not the greatest stay at this hotel. The AC could barely keep the room cool even set at 68 degrees. Internet was not very good. Breakfast good with a few additional items beyond the basics. Very clean. Nice shower. 25 dollars a night pet fee. assigned a pet room which was ok. Stayed here many times before very expensive over the weekend.

Could have been 5 stars but..... Overall, our brief stay was nice. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable with clean linens, and the blackout curtains were a plus for sleeping in. As we arrived late and were only staying one night we did not take advantage of the pool, breakfast or several other amenities. Upon initial arrival in our room the sleeping area appeared to be clean, however, we noticed an odor in the bathroom. Being so late and exhausted, we closed the bath door and discovered the following morning there was a puddle of animal urine under the bathroom vanity that had not been cleaned up. It made me wonder about the rest of the room. As we did not have a pet with us, we reported this to a housekeeping member and the front desk. Our other issue was with the direct hotel reservation phone number. Being a Choice Hotel member, I had found a lower price on a third party site and called directly to the hotel to see if they would match the price. I thought I was speaking to a front desk representative who refused to match the price. I also brought this to the attention of the morning front desk person who had no knowledge of the person I spoke with. I'm disappointed with the housekeeping and reservation service but the hotel itself is acceptable to stay in.

PUT MY SON IN THE HOSPITAL My son and his baseball stayed there this past weekend and all the kids ended up very sick from the pool and it's chemicals. My son ended up in the hospital. The pool is currently shut down and the health department is investigating it and has confirmed it's chemicals are not right. The front desk was very rude about handling the situation. Wouldn't recommend unless you want to end up in the hospital.
