A Mixed Experience with Gorgeous Views at MCM Elegante Lodge and Resort We recently stayed in a King Suite at the MCM Elegante Lodge and Resort in Ruidoso, New Mexico, and we had a largely positive experience with a few areas for improvement. The Good: - Comfy Mattress: The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. - Air Conditioning: The air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping our suite at a comfortable temperature throughout our stay. - Gas Fireplace: We thoroughly enjoyed the gas fireplace in the living room, which added a cozy touch to our evenings. - Balcony: The views from our balcony were stunning, and we loved sitting outside and taking in the scenery. - Lobby and Dining Area: Both areas were beautifully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the resort. - Outdoor Patio: The outdoor patio overlooks the golf course, offering gorgeous views and access to lovely walking trails. - Bar Pizza: We ordered a pizza from the bar, and it was delicious—a delightful surprise. - Breakfast Buffet: One of the best we've seen! The buffet offered a wide range of options, including eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, French toast, pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, cereals, hashbrowns, juices, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. - Friendly Staff: Every staff member we encountered—from the front desk to the bartender and kitchen staff—was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Bad: - Room Condition: Our room was in desperate need of updating. The chair had a worn tear, and there were stains on the couch. - Bathroom Door: The bathroom door was particularly aggravating, dragging on the tile floor and requiring a lot of effort to open and close. It also made quite a bit of noise. - Tile Floor: There was missing grout on the bathroom tile floor, and sloppy paint and grout work, with painter's tape, still left on the door frame. Despite the issues with the room, we enjoyed our stay overall due to the fantastic amenities and friendly staff. The resort's stunning views and beautiful common areas made up for the dated room décor. We would stay here again, but hope to see some updates to the rooms in the future.

Poor experience. Property is in need of maintenance and/or repair. First the good: The breakfast. The king bed was decent. Now the rest: The closer you get to the property the more the state of the building becomes obvious. Birds have carved out cavities in the exterior walls in numerous places. They were nesting there. We had a King suite - Room 337. The air conditioning system is old and loud and blows directly on the bed. Might not bother some but not good for me. The bathroom is fraying at the edges. A big hole had obviously been repaired at the door. There was mold on the caulking around the tub. The windows in the dining area were dirty and needed cleaning badly. The balcony attached to the room had an active hornets nest overheard in the corner just about a foot or so above head level. The jets in the bath tub were quite dingy also but it didn't matter anyway because we had no hot water the first full night on the property. The desk clerk was no help at all. She explained that a pipe was broken and she knew little else about it. I asked to speak to the manager and was informed the manager was off the property and wouldn't be back for two days. I asked if maintenance was working on the problem and her response was "I don't communicate with maintenance". Frustrated, I asked her how it was possible to operate in this manner at which time she raised her voice saying "SIR I DON'T KNOW". I asked her not to raise her voice at me and she stormed away and shut herself in a back room, leaving me standing there alone. On the plus side, hot water was restored soon after but the experience was so negative that I decided to check out and cut the trip short. As it turned out we checked out even earlier that very day due to a mandatory fire evacuation as two wildfires were converging on Ruidoso very quickly. To their credit, I filed a complaint at their corporate level and was refunded my first night's billing. But it was an overall negative experience. I had to pay for the second night even though we were forced to evacuate at 6PM. I believe my hotel charges should have been zero. The elevators were no longer in use by the time of evacuation due to unreliable power. I hope their property was spared from the fire and all staff are safe. Overall this was quite a poor experience.

Very relaxing stay ❤️ I truly enjoyed my stay, friendly staff, wonderful delicious hot breakfast, the jacuzzi was relaxing. Rooms were very clean. Very beautiful resort. They truly had everything you need. Also the breakfast had a lot of variety of foods from fruits, cereals, meats, eggs, fresh biscuits, to also where the chief will make you the breakfast you want. Delicious coffee, bagels. I mean everything.

Amazing Customer Service Ms Ruthie definitely lives up to her role as the ‘Director of delivering Excellent Service’! I reached out to get help with a surprise for my parent’s upcoming stay; went above and beyond in helping make that request come true. THANK YOU!!!!

Best Ruidoso has to offer It's been a couple of years since I last visited this place. Been coming to the Lodge since 2002. The well ran hotel is a joy to visit. Staff like Ruth, Ruthie, and Dennis made this a great week. The facilities need a little help and update but other then that it was great.
