Arrowwood closing for good It has been announced today that Arrowwood will be closing for good in a couple of weeks. Heads up to anyone who was planning a trip there after January. With the steep decline we have seen in the quality of the the accommodations, and in he once appealing buffet, it isn’t really much of a surprise. I do feel sorry for the staff. At one time we spent every Thanksgiving at Arrowwood with our friends and adult children. Decades ago I used to run yearly retreats there for the hospital staff. It most likely will end up that the beautiful grounds will end up being transformed into a few multi-million dollar mansions.

Come prepared The room was dark, old, and had no fridge or microwave. The layout of the hotel is confusing, not well marked, and you may have to walk a great distance to get to your room. It does come with a cheaper price tag, but I'd rather have a fridge.

BEWARE 3 star hotel; Used dental floss in middle of floor upon checking in, no soap in bathroom. Room service was rude and completely messed up our order, food was below par for expense. This place is a nightmare, if I had the time I'd type out the long list of offenses this place committed, but honestly save yourself the the time. Don't stay here!

Fun for the Family We did a multi-family getaway and there were plenty of things for kids to do. The indoor/outdoor pool was perfect even on a cold day. There was an arcade, pool tables, ping pong, and even a fire pit for s'mores. Only downfall was that the rooms do not have a microwave, nor fridge unless you pay for them.

TOP NOTCH RESORT This was our first experience staying at Doral Arrowwood. Everyone was friendly and accommodating from the valet, receptionist, bartender and bellhop. They all went out of their way to be helpful and cheerful. The resort has several great restaurants. We didn't use the indoor pool but it looked inviting and had a life guard on duty. Our room was spacious and comfortable and well decorated. The bathroom was divided into 2 sections which we like. The amenities were good and there were sufficient towels. The resort has a 9 hole golf course and is situated on a hilly and grassy setting. We would recommend this resort to anyone and will stay her again.
