Very Nice Delightful rooms. Modern electronic charging options in room. Very comfy, large tv, fridge and coffee provided. One of the better included breakfasts I have had at a hotel and a large breakfast area. Easy freeway access but no freeway noise. Restaurants nearby.

A very pleasant experience Holiday Inn Express is consistently a good hotel so we always seek them out. This hotel was very pleasant. They are near the end of a renovation so everything is new and improved. This location is conveniently near CalExpo, the Arden Fair mall and major freeways. The only real negative is the lack of nearby restaurants. If you’re going to visit Old town it is a bit of a drive. The pool wasn’t open at the time of our stay but the Hampton Inn next door allowed us to use theirs. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Nice shower. The microwave, Keurig coffeemaker and refrigerator make the room convenient. The front desk staff and housekeepers were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Trajectory in doubt This is the second time we stayed here--the last time was February 2020. A lot has changed in the meantime in the lodging industry. This property is currently being renovated, so you'll have to think of this review as being valid for only a few more months (hopefully). Right now, there is no physical front desk. The breakfast area is to the left and the service and selection are below what you'd expect for a chain that markets itself as a 3-star collection. There is a notice at the front desk that as of 2/6/23, parking will be added at $10 per night. There is no improvement in the parking, however. it's still the same unimproved lot to the side and rear of the building. There is no additional lighting or security. The cleanliness of the hallways and elevator were pretty dismal. Spills and debris were quite apparent. Granted, we stayed on the evening of the Super Bowl, but the place looked a bit dingy. On the other hand, the rooms were clean, well-furnished, and everything worked.

Given a smoking room I was more than frustrated that as a Diamond member a smoking room (they tried to eliminate the smell) was assigned to me. I immediately went down and they changed the room. I was here for a week and was not offered an upgrade, which was also frustrating. Traveling in Europe, IHG membership is valued, and I always am upgraded w/o having to ask. I loved that there was daily room service. However, my coffee maker service was never replenished, and I had to go to the front desk every day. The hotel is undergoing a complete renovation. I look forward to returning in a year and seeing all the changes. The breakfast crew is very nice. Even though breakfast is 6-9 even on the weekends (grrr.....), they stay open a little longer for families and those that are late.

Not up to Holiday Inn Standards I checked in here for a business trip. I normally stay in Holiday Inns, and this was a let down. The hotel is under renovations, with loud machinery during the day. There is a sign at the front desk that says the water will be shut off from 9 am to 5 pm Mon-Fri from March 1st to March 31st. Umm…. Isn’t this a health and safety violation?? I asked the front desk staff about it, and they said “oh no, not continuously. Just intermittently because they’re renovating the bathrooms first”. Great. Hope I don’t need to use the toilet “intermittently”. I was tired and thirsty after a long day of driving so I asked if I could add two bottles of water from their store to my room charges. They said yes, I go over to the store and check, no water bottles to be had. The store was poorly stocked. I grab two bottles of Gatorade instead and inform the front desk. She said she would find some water to restock with and bring some to my room - she never did. The breakfast area had signs posted everywhere that said “no food is permitted to leave dining room”. Umm, excuse me?? I am a paying customer, and frankly, traveling alone as a woman, I’m not eating in your dining room alone with a bunch of men construction workers and truckers. I took my food and coffee back to my room for safety reasons. I had an omelet and a cinnamon roll. The omelet was bland and the cinnamon roll was dry and hard - and I’m not usually picky about hotel food. This was pretty terrible. The rooms are incredibly dated, it’s no wonder they’re doing renovations. See photos of my room attached. Overall, pretty disappointed. As an IHG platinum member, I’m thinking of changing to a new chain after two bad experiences with IHG back to back. Come on Holiday Inn, you can do better!
