Convenient and quiet Everything was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed on 14 floor facing parking garage. It was quiet. You can either park in hotel parking Lott for $30 or city parking garage for $20. In and out privileges allowed with validation. The city needs to keep the parking garage cleaner. Often homeless with obvious mental health issues were at every to garage. We didn’t have any direct issues with them but it’s obvious that people are urinating in stairwells of the garage. The area going to DoCo and underground walkway to old town was dirty and all need to be pressured wash. Sadly the area has gone down the last few years. Maybe the the businesses can push city to clean the area?

Convenient Stay in Downtown Sacramento Everyone was very courteous. Rooms were clean. Hotel is next door to Macy's and a walkway under the freeway to get to Old Sacramento. Restaurant was closed. Don't bother with the breakfast buffet, not worth it. I left for the airport early the next day and had breakfast there; better and cheaper.

Horrible Experience!!! My husband and I stayed at this hotel on July 19th and 20th, 2024, and I must express my profound disappointment and frustration. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this would be an unpleasant experience. The parking lot was completely full, and food trucks had taken over, leaving us no place to park. Things only got worse when we entered the hotel. The lobby, waiting area, and bar were all overcrowded with people, and vendor booths lined the hallways. It was only then that we discovered the George Na’ope Hula Festival was happening the entire weekend. While the festival itself seemed beautiful and the attendees friendly, this was not the environment we had expected or wanted for our stay. The hotel was far too crowded and noisy, making our visit extremely uncomfortable. The wait times were unbearable. We had to wait for an elevator multiple times because they were always full, sometimes waiting up to 10 minutes just to get to our room. The room was the worst part of our stay. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and the pillows were so flimsy they offered no support at all. Both my husband and I woke up with back and neck pain each morning. To add to our misery, the ice machine on our floor was broken. I had to go to the 3rd floor, only to find that ice machine was also out of order. I finally managed to get ice from the 5th floor, but this whole ordeal took 20 minutes—something that should have taken less than 5 minutes if the hotel maintained its facilities properly. Additionally, the hotel has doors leading to a corridor under the bridge to Old Sacramento and another to DOCO, but these were inexplicably closed. This forced us to use the main entrance, making us navigate through dense crowds and vendor booths every time we left or returned to the hotel. It was incredibly inconvenient. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a thoroughly miserable experience, and I strongly advise spending extra money to stay somewhere else. This hotel is absolutely horrible!

Just not worth it… This hotel is in a convenient location in downtown Sacramento. First, the good: the hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly, though not always efficient. Parking is in a very small lot in front of the hotel ($30/night) or in a public garage close by ($20/night) There is a small park between the hotel and garage, with some fairly sketchy folks loitering about. I didn’t exactly feel unsafe, but I wouldn’t have wanted my wife to walk to the garage alone. I was able to check in when I arrived just before 3 PM, but there was confusion because the company I was in town to work with had made the reservation and sent a credit card authorization for payment which was never posted to the room. The clerk had to search through old emails to find it. The next day, the same clerk insisted that we needed to pay for two cars because my name didn’t match the name on the credit card for the room, even though we had gone through all of this just a few hours before. Since there were two names, there surely must be two cars. Huh? Though clean, the hotel is very old and dated and does not have amenities that are expected in hotels at this price ($350). No fridge ( and I had to search three floors to find an ice machine that worked), cheap bath products, blackout curtains that didn’t close completely and were full of holes anyway, and painfully uncomfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast buffet was standard fare, though with a very limited selection, and was $20. At this price, even in this location, their guests deserve more. I’m glad I wasn’t paying for this room, and until some things change, you would do better to stay elsewhere.

good for tourist and business travelers I recently completed my first stay at this Holiday Inn location. The room was very nice. The colors and décor were relaxing. The carpet was clean; there weren't any noticeable stains, tears or wear spots. The beds were comfortable. The sheets were clean and white. The bathroom was clean. The towels were clean and in good condition. The furniture was clean without any significant nicks or chips to the surfaces. The room had a refrigerator, and it was clean and free of odors. The TV and Wi-Fi worked well. A co-worker commented they thought that the hotel might have done some remodeling work, because it was nicer than they remembered. The underpass leading towards the Old Sacramento Waterfront is just outside the front entrance. This hotel is also adjacent to DOCO (aka Downtown Commons) and Golden 1 Center. In my opinion, this location is good for tourist and business travelers.
