No sleep Dogs barking, no sleep.
We were on the 3rd floor and throughout our stay, there was a dog barking, left in the room while the owners were out.
Why woul guests with dogs be allowed in upper floors, dogs left unattended for the other guests to be miserable?
College staff at reception desk, employed for the season, ho hum attitude.
Way too expensive per night’s stay and lack of sleep. Won’t return.

Great hotel in the heart of Salem! This was a great hotel. Walking distance from all the major attractions, the hotel is charming and comfortable. Having preserved its 1925 look, the hotel is a great place for a short stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is kind and very helpful. Only two issues: the food at the hotel's restaurant is greatly overpriced and our bathroom light kept turning on by itself during the night. All in all, I loved this hotel and will definitely stay here next time I’m in Salem!

Nice break during a witching day! We ate at the restaurant and it rivaled the food we get on the Las Vegas Strip. The cheese board was the best that I’ve ever had with the honey and strawberry jam to accompany the cheese and local fruit.
The duck was great! Prepared well with a nice citrus sauce.

Hawthorne Hotel - Salem, MA - Amazing! The staff were extremely friend to both my wife and I, and most importantly our pup! We felt at home from the moment checked in to the moment we checked out. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. It’s also perfectly situated with everything being in walking distance. I highly recommend staying at the Hawthorne Hotel when in Salem!

2 nights stay in the month of September 2023 $832.17 I was very unimpressed with our room. We booked a two-night stay last year and had to cancel. Our non-refundable deposit was kept but they let us re-book for the following year.
I had always wanted to see Salem during Halloween celebrations. We could only get a September stay toward the end of the month.
The room was noisy and the view was of a a rooftop!
The handicapped accessible toilet seat broke at a screw so I had to adjust the seat when I sat...no I am not morbidly obese!
There was a mini fridge delivered to our room and it was fine.
The queen bed was comfortable. but it was a bit too warm in the room.
The hotel has free parking and is convnient to everything downtown.
On a note about Salem:
The crowds are too much this time of year.
We got covid within days of visting Salem. Luckily, we were vaccinated, we didn't get too ill.....
