A Good Choice While this well-maintained older motel is on the well-travelled State Route 50, the town of Salida, about a mile off the thru route, is well worth visiting for its eateries and riverside charm. Try “The Boathouse”. The motel is clean, the beds comfy, and the free full breakfast a good value.

Great Place Place was great. 30 minutes to Monarch Mountain. Rooms were clean. Staff was very nice. Pool/Spa area had their own towels. We didn’t bring any pets but I appreciated how many folks had their dogs. My only suggestion would be a bit more options for breakfast, but that’s it. Will be back for sure.

you can hear everything Great location...nice staff...good breakfast....clean rooms Downside... -Room smelled like too much chemical spray and cleaner -You could hear straight thru the walls in fact our neighbors TV was louder than ours. -We could hear the dog shake his collar when he would get up. The room had a door to the other room we even put a towel down to try and muffle the sound, including the coughing and talking so we tried being quiet which seemed odd as we also paid to be able to chat and watch TV. The remote for the TV worked sporadically -when booking thru Air BNB there was confusion on the property end as our reservation didn't show up for them which was weird (not their fault) but made me very nervous that I wasn't even booking with the right property. The Air BNB site also never responded to my request to add a night so we ended up staying somewhere else.

Bad experience Came to Salida for a wedding and booked for 2 nights in a double queen room and were put on the third floor. There is no elevator. Property is very rundown. One of our beds had a spider in it so everything had to be shaken out. Staff told us they come in from the outside and were very unhelpful and hostile. Asked to cancel the next night and were told there would be no refund for that night. The rooms are very dingy and outdated. We paid about $300 for 2 nights. Today, wasps began to enter the room and we were moved to another property. The clerk refused to alert the other guests even though they were everywhere. She said maintenance didn’t get there until tomorrow and she wasn’t going near them. Unbelievable Would not stay again or recommend to anyone.

Not worth the exorbitant price Good: location is easy to get to, but right on busy US50, allowed dogs which was the reason we stayed here, but only a small patch of grass for them to do their business so we had to walk them around another block. Front desk person was pleasant. Everything else: this is a pretty rundown place for over $500 for 3 nights. It was not clean in bathroom, uncomfortable bed and lumpy pillows, ripped towels, door lock was screwed up, ac/fan was LOUD and rattling all night long. Including photos so you can draw your own conclusions. We didn't have the time or the inclination to try and get these items addresses as we needed to be out by 7am all three days for the purpose we were in Salida, so maybe other rooms are not as bad if we could/would have been switched, but it would have been a stretch to make up for all of it as the other rooms we saw while passing with doors open looked similar. If we had time, we would have requested a discounted rate for the conditions, but we didn't have time, so we won't be staying here again even though we are frequently in Salida.
