Mr. Jim Arnold My family rented two rooms and both rooms were very clean and made our vacation and very enjoyable the breakfast was also really good. We highly recommend residence Inn by Marriott. We travel quite a bit around the United States and the residence inn has been one of the finest for cleanliness and very friendly and helpful staff.

Needs work, reeks of smoke I've stayed at dozens of Residence Inns in the US and UK, and this is by far the worst one I have ever experienced. If the smell of smoke bothers you then stay away from this place. The first room we were in reeked of it, so they moved us to the floor below and had the same issue. The staff were nice but seemed to be uninterested in determining where the smell was originating from. We ended up cutting our stay there short and moved to another place nearby. I'm a loyal, Marriott Titanium member and it's by far the worst Marriott experience I've had.

Luggage Stolen I stayed at the hotel for Temporary Housing during a relocation. Had to leave my luggage in storage while I went out on a Business Trip. When I returned one of my suitcase was missing: ironically the one with my purses, cosmetics, sentimental and irreplaceable items. Only staff is allowed into the storage room....I did not feel sense of empathy for my loss only from one person who is working today Saturday the 20th. I have been asking for a review of the camera footage and hoping they can find out what happened. Incidentally when I first checked in the couch had stains, the room did not feel clean. ( I travel for work weekly and so I know when a hotel room is cleaned.) I would have given this a 1 star but giving a 2 because the breakfast lady was very kind with the right customer service attitude. I get the feeling because they are close to the ski slopes they really don't care as they know people will come. Do not bring valuables and do not leave anything in storage. Recommendation is cameras in the storage rooms, a Ticket for storage or a Log book with a number attached to each piece of luggage, proper cleaning and hiring staff who cares. There was young girl who took my police report; Friday morning 3/19/2021; cannot remember her name but management needs to work with her on her customer service. Also would have expected more support in the matter from the management. I had to file a Police Report of the incident.

Not up to standard It seemed to us that this hotel was run down. Hall carpets were stained, and hallways were dirty. The worst thing was the noisy rooms. The heat system was LOUD. Staff was great, very accommodating, and even moved us to another room hoping to find a quieter one. Still noisy. I think it needs a facelift.

Amazing hotel for these challenging times I am a Platinum Marriott member and decades-long customer. My husband and I were taking our first out-of-state trip since Covid hit March 2020. We planned to ski Park City and Snowbasin for a week. I read the reviews for many Marriott and Hilton (also a longtime member) properties. I called the manager of this Residence Inn SLC Cottonwood because although the reviews were stellar, there were some concerns the end of December 2020. The manager was impressive that he stated up front they had staffing issues during the holidays (covid), but by the middle January they were in full swing and we could be assured we would be happy with our stay. This Residence Inn was truly amazing, especially given the status of other hotels during this challenging time. Our room was very clean, as were the hallways, lobby and common areas and outside. The hotel has a beautiful huge built-in outdoor hot tub that is meticulously maintained. Reservations are required; you have the entire hot tub to yourself for 30 minutes. We had no trouble getting the 5:30 slot every evening. The large outdoor pool is heated and available also - no reservations needed due to its large size (no one used it while we were there). The Inn also has an outdoor paddleball court in terrific condition (no one used it while we were there). We will bring our pickleball rackets next time we come. The breakfast buffet was fresh, plentiful and varied, with large bags provided for takeout. We appreciated the ability to prepare all of our meals in our unit, with the large refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and utensils/tools. I can't say enough about the cleanliness, service, safety and unique amenities this hotel provided. The price was ridiculously low for what we received. It will now be our #1 stay in SLC. Thanks to all of the management and staff for their unprecedented level of thoughtfulness and commitment that results in such an incredible offering.
