Bed Bugs !!! My husband has to go every year for the music teachers convention. We love to stay here however this year we took the family and we thought all was well until we found bed bugs in our house. __. Soon after arriving from our trip my daughter began itching and having rashes. I dreaded the thought of bed bugs so I thought it might be an allergy or mosquito bites. However it wasn’t till this month we began to see the adults appear without fear of being seen. We haven’t left the house or invited anyone over due to Covid 19 lockdown. It was definitely from here. I’m sorry to say next year we won’t be staying here anymore. I want everyone to know this experience has led to quite an expense to get rid of especially during these times so do yourselves a favor don’t stay here!!!! I was on the 3rd floor FYI

Great Customer Service! Great location and price. I appreciate the great customer service I received in a charge issue I had, and that the staff works hard especially when they have to compete with other locations nearby. All in all, great value and staff.

It’s Got Potential...but Needs Updating! I love the retro styling of this hotel, and the location is near several attractions...without the price tag of being RIGHT NEXT TO the attractions. The lobby is attractive, but the energy of the place was just “dead.” The rooms are in desperate need of updating. Wallpaper is buckling, the desk chairs are falling apart, and everything is “tired.” TIP: The hotel has nonsmoking rooms, but it is NOT a nonsmoking hotel. If you have a poolside room, your room may reek of smoke coming in through the sliding doors. On the plus side, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I heard the hotel will be getting a major remodel. I look forward to visiting the “new” El Tropicano when it does. Until then, I’d recommend another hotel.

Decent price for room, not so helpful For the money I paid, I got what I expected out of this hotel. I will cover what I liked and disliked, starting with the positives. 1. Breakfast @ $10.95 food was good 2. Location: Though in the north end of downtown it is still on the riverwalk, just a quiet 10 mins to get to the heart of the action 3. Quiet On to the dislikes 1.Elevator: only 2 for 400 or so rooms, just one working, Stairs only existed to the street 2. Room temperatue (partially my fault) Did not notice remote, slept in winter jacket first night 3. Language barrier: After getting to the airport I realized I did not have my visa on me. I called the hotel to check if it was still in my room. They asked me if I was coming back to get it. I told them only if it was there. They asked me to wait a minute on the phone while they checked with housekeeping. They then told me housekeeping was bringing my card down to the desk. I took a taxi back to the hotel, only to have them apologize and say that the room stewart could not speak english and was coming down to the desk herself to find out what was going on. So I was out $60 on cab rides with no way to pay the cab driver. I told them I would have never come back if they did say they had it and brought it back to the desk. I asked them to even cover half the cab rides that they cost me, No avail. So with that they upset me enough that I will not return to this hotel, otherwise as long as you don't lose anything it is priced cheap
