Not as nice as I thought it would be I am currently staying at the hotel since it was designated as the host hotel for the USAT Taekwondo Nationals. However, the hotel was not close to the venue at all. There were no representatives from the USAT at the hotel despite being designated the host hotel but that’s a different story. Upon arrival, I requested an early check-in, it was around 2:30PM but, was immediately told that check-in was at 4PM and to leave them a telephone number where they could call me when the room was ready. I received their call a little past 4PM. I asked for parking, the hotel only has valet at $49.00 per night which I find it ridiculous since I stayed on first class hotels (this hotel is not first class) and valet parking is a lot less than $49.00 a night. Opted to park in the lot next door for $10.00 a day flat rate. Once we figured out the elevator system, we went to our room on the 29th floor. When opening the door to our room, seeing it was huge disappointment. The room was stingingly small, outdated, had no mini refrigerator to put water or drinks, no coffee machine, nothing close by to get a cup of coffee in the morning and it had the feel of a cheap motel room in the interstate. The glasses provided with the ice chest were plastic and flimsy. There’s not that much to eat at the hotel besides the a bar and grill. The food there was good but the service stunk! The Cactus restaurant was closed at the time of our arrival. It was the slowest service we have ever received anywhere. I had to get off my table at least three times to find a waiter/waitress to take our order. When the order came, we still had no drinks and, and the water that we requested came towards the end of the meal. Bottom line this place is nothing more than a very expensive Motel 6, in a good location and must importantly, a tourist trap because the river walk is next to it. I also tried the store, bought a beer and they charged more for that beer than what we paid at the bar and grill. Honestly, I wouldn’t stay at the hotel again. There’s nothing special or redeeming at this particular location.

Desperately Needs Updating The Marriott was probably fine — in 1982. It’s horribly dated, from the lobby and the bar to the rooms. Not only does it appear you’re in a time warp from 40 years ago, it’s beat. Worn-out carpet, old chipped furniture, broken chairs. Even music piped in is from the ‘80s. The bathroom has one of those old sliding doors. It gets two stars because of the Marriott beds but that’s it.

Great experience I want to send out a special thanks to one of the staff members who went out of his way to help us check out. Helped me with my bags and getting my car when it was very hectic with people everywhere. Thanks Ernest for doing a great job.

Best service EVER! My husband and I went to the Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk for our anniversary (6/11/21- 6/13/21). Franny and Nicole are absolutely AMAZING!! Both ladies went over and beyond to make sure our anniversary was one my husband and I will never forget!! They treated us like a King and queen and made it so we could truly enjoy and celebrate each other. I highly highly highly recommend this hotel! Franny and Nicole are top notch, and can’t thank them enough for their outstanding customer service and golden heart!!
