Pretty good, not near the hotel circle hotels. Has onsite EV charging. Hotel is a little out of the way of the normal Mission Valley hotels with super easy access to the 8 and the 163. Its right next door to the 2 biggest malls in SD. The lobby is huge and has a very nice cafe for Starbucks and the on-site restaurant is super easy to see and get to. If you are driving an EV to this hotel, there are 3 Blink ev chargers directly to the right of the main hotel garage. DO NOT pull into the main garage, but take a hard right immediately before the hotel garage entrance and they are down on the far right (also this is by the main public garage entrance and is easier to get to the EV chargers on that side). Don't do what I did and go into the parking garage then aimlessly look for the EV chargers in the garage. They ain't in there. The elevators are "choose at ground floor or on your floor" only. More hotels are going to this design and I get that its very efficient, but restricts you to only the floors you choose, normally at ground floor. So be warned: you pick your floor from ground floor and that's it. No more buttons in the elevator. However, the elevators in this DoubleTree are super fast. The rooms are nicely appointed and bed was pretty comfy. Be warned: There is NO refrigerator in the room. I only found out too late after grabbing a Cali burrito on the way back to the hotel, eating half then looking around the room and sighing as it was going to be breakfast but had to toss it. The pillows are a little too squishy. I had to use 3 to cradle and find a sweet spot. For any TV watchers, right now is a really bad time to have DirecTV and that is what this hotel uses for the in room TVs, so NO ESPN or anything Disney owned. DirecTV is still in a battle with Disney as I write this. So watching NFL on the weekends in the hotel ain't happening right now (Sep 12, 2024). The staff at the front desk were super warm and friendly and never missed a beat on the cookies I'd ask for up front. Overall, good stay, will probably pick again. I didn't have time to check out the gym or the pool and am angry at work for that one :(

Ant and disrespect I am currently staying in room 929 and have encountered a significant issue with ants throughout the bathroom. I raised this concern but was informed that the only solution available was to send someone with ant spray. When the staff arrived, the spray provided was intended for outdoor use, which we declined due to concerns about exposure to harsh chemicals in an enclosed space where we were sleeping. The following morning, at 8 a.m., staff arrived unannounced with the intention of spraying again. As we were in the room, we requested that the treatment be carried out after we had vacated. However, despite our request, the spraying proceeded without our consent when our attention was diverted. We subsequently spoke with the manager, Pearla, who dismissed our concerns and refused to review the photos and videos we had taken as evidence. Additionally, we raised an issue regarding the lack of respect we experienced during check-in, which Pearla disregarded, attributing the matter to a potential misunderstanding based on the staff member’s accent. This response felt both dismissive and condescending. I would appreciate this matter being addressed promptly and appropriately, as the service and responses thus far have been unsatisfactory.

5 Night stay This is my 4th stay in this hotel and really enjoyed it. The staff was courteous, and restaurant and Pronto shop in the hotel great, and maid service perfect. Since I have stayed here before- I can tell the hotel room is dated- carpet needs cleaning and bathroom a refresher. Pool area, fire pit and exercise room are a nice plus .

The front desk staff are very friendly! The staff at check-in were very kind and polite. I was a solo traveller and was a bit worried, but he made me feel very at ease. He also took care of the check-out process. His service was excellent! During my stay, I asked the hotel front desk to call a taxi for me twice. I felt at ease because it was a taxi called by the hotel. However, both times I was clearly charged more than the amount I should have paid, and one of them said they didn't take credit cards and told me to pay in cash, and didn't give me a receipt. The other one said he didn't have any change and handed me a small bill while laughing. He also didn't issue a receipt. I was disappointed with the two taxi drivers because I had a very good stay at the hotel. Inexperienced international travellers trust the taxi company that the hotel calls. The hotel should ask the taxi company to improve.

Moldy facilities and charges without receipt Appalling smell in the hotel lobby-some mixture of moisture, mold and overt use of perfume to try to mask everything. The state of the rooms as in the pictures. Everything old and well overused, moldy, rusty and damaged-even the toilet seat and the shower head that can be easily replaced (!). The carpets look dirty, even though the cleaning lady vacuums every day-the only positive aspect of this hotel I find was the cleaning lady. I was charged without explanation for a refreshment in the room that I did not use-because I have read online reviews about a 5 USD water bottles etc. I stayed trough AACR, for their conference, and they gave us the welcoming one bottle of water and that was it. I was not issued a receipt for that alleged refreshment that I have used, and I was charged two days after my checkout. Hotel does not respond to emails so I had to call couple of times from overseas to get them to revert that transaction-I am actually still waiting- beware of this institution, it is shady.
