Staycation from hell from 8/2 to 8/7. Rm 938 Staycation from hell from 8/2 to 8/7. Rm 938 Day 2 (8/3 at 8:20PM) I asked the hostess at the Arterra restaurant if we can sit at one of the empty tables on the patio for dinner. The patio was totally empty. She said she will send a server. I explained to her that we ordered food from Door Dash. I asked her again if it would be ok and she kindly gave permission. However, less than 10 minutes later Noe Martinez came and asked me and my 5 years old daughter to leave. He said he is the restaurant manager and the hostess “misunderstood the request”. Noe Martinez was very rude and totally unprofessional. I complained to a manager (Fred) who offer to compensate us and I told him I Do not want anything. I only want Noe to apologize to us for humiliating us. Noe never apologized for rudeness, unprofessional conduct and lack of manners. Day 3: asked front desk to have the room cleaned. We were out from noon till 10PM and were shocked to find the room not cleaned. The trash basket was over flowing. No shampoo, clean towels, etc. Day 4: I asked the front desk staff twice to correct charges on my room account. The same man promised me on two separate days to correct the internet charges but never did. I am Silver Bonvoy member and supposed to receive free internet service which I did the first three days of our stay. This man did the check out for us on 8/7 at 8:30AM. The Marriott hotel charged my credit card $150 actual charge (not pending) and $10.29. Both charges were inaccurate. I called the Marriott Del Mar and they promised to refund the charges. Three days later, I found out they only refunded the $150. Terrible service and incompetent management.

Nice Property This is a nice property. Looks newly renovated and it is in a fairly convenient location. The bell staff were great! Very responsive and helpful! Front desk associates were also friendly. Unfortunately for us we stayed on the same weekend as a bunch of volleyball families so that was a bummer (it was pretty noisy with all the kids screaming and running around the hotel) but that was out of the hotels control. My only complaint is that we did ask for 4pm checkout as we live a couple hours away and wanted to relax before getting on the road. Our 4pm check out was approved since we are platinum level but there was a communication lapse between the front desk and housekeeping as they kept knocking on our door (3x) as we were trying to sleep.

Super Corporate, Sterile For doing business in the area, this Marriott is clean, contemporary, and convenient. The bed and pillows were of excellent quality and the clothes storage was ample. Good breakfast choices too at the Arterra restaurant. Ditto for a night-time snack. On this one-night stay, we asked the concierge what there was to do in the area. He replied, "Let me look into that and I'll call you." He never called!!!! Haha! So yes; there is nothing to do in Del Mar other than business meetings and watching horse racing.

The worst We are staying here now and very unhappy. The service is terrible. The room advertised for 3 adults - nope. They have a cot with literal bars sticking up in the middle and the front desk could not care less. One more night and NEVER again. There were also no towels in the room and had to go to the pool to get towels for the room.

No A/C in July. Stay away! Checked in around 5 pm. Called the front desk to report the A/C was not working. Waited 30 min and nobody came to check it out. Waited 30 more minutes and still nobody. Left to go eat dinner then came back and still no cold air. Nobody called us to tell us that the engineer could not fix it tonight. No other rooms available tonight. No A/C in July? Marriott, you failed. You failed big.
