Will be back! The Pearl is conveniently located to the airport and the Sunset Cliffs. It's not far from downtown San Diego and it's easy to get to La Jolla from there as well. The hotel street noise is loud so bring ear plugs. The Nextdoor building was leaf blowing at 7am on Sunday, so just be aware of that. The room is beautiful and comfortable and the beds are also very comfortable. The breakfast included is great and a perfect way to start the day.

Cute boutique hotel We loved this hotel! For the price compared to other hotels in San Diego, it's a good value. Parking cost $20 and there weren't enough spots available so we ended up parking on the street which was free. Breakfast consisted of fruit, yogurt (you can build your own granola bowl), bagels, and very good tea and coffee. We werent told and and the guide book didnt give the correct times, but breakfast runs from 7am-10am. We stayed in the mini pearl, which is their smallest room. From other reviews, we were worried it might be too small, but for us it was perfect! My partner and I are both under 5'6 and have experience living in small apartments so this room felt cozy instead of cramped for us. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were some technical issues during our visit and the Ponyboy restaurant was closed, but we hope to visit again in the future and try it then

The Pearl is a gem! We just spent one night at the Pearl in San Diego and were pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed it based on some of the negative reviews. We were in Room 1, ground level, near the “screen” pool side. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. We asked for a parking pass when we arrived and had no issue finding a spot. We had dinner on-site (glad we made a rezzie as it was busy) and the food was delicious. Oysters Rockefeller, Cobb Salad, Tuna Cassrole (seared tuna with velvety mushroom pasta). Only “critical” comment is about the wine list-a majority of wines were off the charts expensive ($500-2500). We found something reasonable that we liked but it seemed out of whack for the overall vibe. When we are back in the area we will definitely come back. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly.
